Is this an evaporation line?

Hello ladies,

I know I'm probably just trying to cling on to something that I should disregard but I'm so desperate to get a positive after a very long time trying.

I'm currently 12dpo and I took a test this morning using a clear blue rapid detection test. I waited 3 minutes and couldn't see a line but 45 minutes later I looked and there is a clear line. I know you're meant to disregard test results after 10 minutes but I looked at the test I did the day before at 11dpo and that too has a line but much much fainter.

I'm I getting my hopes up for no reason do you think?

The first picture is today's, and the second picture is both today's and yesterday.

I can see a very faint line x

firsttimemummy321 · 27/05/2021 07:54

I can see it but in the photo can't tell if it has colour. As you either need to stop or carry on with progesterone I'd see if your dr has any advice given the meds they may do a blood test to confirm. As you has the first line on Monday I'd have expected it to be darker but that may have been an indent and this a faint positive 🤞🏻 for you!

Emmyanddreams · 27/05/2021 08:05

Thank you for your replies.
I've been looking and I think I can see a teeny bit of colour but I don't know whether it's my imagination playing tricks on me! My husband is less convinced.
I agree, I would expect it to be darker by now.

Good idea, I'll speak to the fertility dr and she what she says.

To be honest, I think my gut is telling me I'm not pregnant.

I spoke to the dr at the fertility clinic yesterday and they said as yesterday was officially 'test day' I should continue with the progesterone, and hold off testing until Sunday....
Of course I've retested today! 🤣

I really don't think anything positive is going to come out of this. I used a clear blue test this morning and this faintest line appeared within 3 minutes but I think it just looks like an evaporation line. It's so annoying how these tests can give such false hope to people!

That does look like a faint line and I can see some colour! Hold off till Sunday and fingers crossed you get some good news!

Saihus3 · 28/05/2021 22:02

I see a line x

Keep us updated. Everything crossed for you Smile

nacarlo89 · 28/05/2021 22:34

I don't think I'm pregnant. It's now Sunday and I tested early this morning with a clear blue digital weeks indicator and it came up not pregnant 😔
I also did a FRER and that had the same really really faint line as before.

I felt quite disappointed as I did a clear blue test yesterday afternoon so not first urine of the day and saw something come up within 3 minutes, so I was really hopefully this morning I would get a proper positive.

So I think since Monday even though every single test has had a teeny tiny line (I've done a lot!), they've all been fake. I'm between 17 to 19 dpo today so I'm sure you would definitely have a strong line by now.

This was yesterday afternoons test..

Sorry to say @Emmyanddreams looks like a chemical pregnancy to me (I had lots) at this stage the lines should be darker and more obvious.

Emmyanddreams · 30/05/2021 07:17

@AdriannaP Yeah I think you might be right. It's a shame but I suppose a positive is it shows we can get pregnant so hopefully in the coming months we'll have more luck x

Are you taking progesterone from ovulation day? That’s what I had to do. Also baby aspirin from ovulation day.

Good luck!

Emmyanddreams · 30/05/2021 07:44

@AdriannaP Progesterone from 2dpo, for two weeks. Did it work for you?
I mean this is the first month where I've had even faint lines so I assume it must have done something.

AdriannaP · 30/05/2021 07:50

I had two MC, about 5 chemical pregnancies, started progesterone and aspirin, had one more early MC and now 23 weeks pregnant. So I guess it worked. Took progesterone twice a day, high dose folic acid, small aspirin, vitamin B (prescribed), pregnancy multivitamin.

I also have one DC born before the MCs.

Emmyanddreams · 30/05/2021 10:37

@AdriannaP So sorry to hear about your losses but great news about your current pregnancy. I hope it goes well.
I do have a little one who is 3 so I'm lucky on that front. She took over a year to conceive. This time it's been over 19 months now and nothing. I never knew about secondary infertility before trying for number two but I'm now realising it's more common than you realise.

Thank you! Wishing you all the best too.
As one consultant said to me, if you have a child already there is usually no significant reason you can’t have a second. You body can fall pregnant and you can carry a child to term. All the best!

Emmyanddreams · 01/06/2021 07:13

I'm still here, testing! 🙈🙈
I was planning on stopping progesterone today but just testing one more time with FRER and there is still a faint line that appeared within 3 minutes. It's still super super faint but I do think there is a colour to it.

I had slight brown spotting yesterday and this morning so I just assumed that might my period was coming anyway.

Oh this is so difficult!

You poor thing. It is horrid waiting! To me, that looks positive. Mine looked like that and my son is 3 now.

Saihus3 · 01/06/2021 19:01

That spotting could be IB hence why its faint x
It'll hopefully get darker within a few days.

Emmyanddreams · 01/06/2021 19:49

@Saihus3 I would love that to be true but I'm 21dpo based on my bbt chart. I'm sure that would be too late for implantation bleeding. It is just dark spotting so it's old blood but still. I could be wrong? I hope I'm wrong!!

Saihus3 · 01/06/2021 21:54

@Emmyanddreams i had that with both of my pregnancies in week 4 and 5 and everything still turned out perfectly fine x

AdriannaP · 04/06/2021 04:50

Any news @Emmyanddreams

Emmyanddreams · 04/06/2021 06:52

@AdriannaP Yep, not pregnant. My period properly started yesterday. I also had a blood test and my levels were 2 so definitely not pregnant. I can't believe how deceiving these tests are. Although I find it weird because I've tested so many times in the past and the results have always been completely white. Not sure why it was different this time.
At least I know for sure now and we can crack on with a new month.
Thanks for asking xx

Does this look like an Evap line to you ? The line came up within the 3 minutes ? Clear blue rapid test …but has now started to fade ?
