Therapy after pregnancy loss

Hey,

I am currently recovering from my third pregnancy loss in the last 12 months. This time my pregnancy was a live ectopic - discovered at 7 weeks and resulted in my right tube being removed. My operation was a week ago today.

Prior to that I had 2 MC.

I know I need some form of counselling/therapy to process what has happened and pick myself up in order to try again and continue this journey.

I am UK based - have contacted Cradle Charity but am yet to hear back.

Does anyone else have any place/companies I can reach out to. Happy to pay privately if necessary.

Xx

Hiya, www.bica.net/find-a-counsellor might be a good start for you.

www.bacp.co.uk/search/Therapists?UserLocation=&q=miscarriage&LocationQuery=&Location=&FoundLocation=&SortOrder=0&Distance=10

I'd always advise using the BACP directory so you end speaking to a qualified person. You can search for terms such as miscarriage and it brings up counsellors and therapists near you with that specialty.

Otherwise I'd recommend checking out Tommy's list of support orgs, although it looks to me like a lot of them would be on an ad hoc basis/helplines rather than sessions like you'd have a with a private therapist.

I'm so sorry for your losses ❤️ I had 6 free sessions with Petals baby loss charity. They are offering sessions via zoom, so you don't need to be local to be eligible.

Definitely work with a counsellor with specialist experience in baby loss, I've had recurrent losses and had a generic counsellor who was completely out of her depth and actually retraumtised me x

I am so sorry for your losses.

I went through the NHS, self reffered to mental health services and was then given (very swiftly) an initial appointment. I was diagnosed with PTSD directly relating to our loss so have been offered some one to one sessions, the waiting list is only about 6-8 weeks.

SANDS is another place to try. I do monthly group sessions with SANDS and they've been such a help. this is the page to find your local group

I hope you find support Flowers
