Hysterosalpingogram? Advice please

Hi all,
Maybe this should be on the 'infertility' thread, but I that word fills me with so much dread and I'm only going through tests at this point, to determine why I've been unable to conceive yet.

I went to see a gynaecologist on Saturday, after 10 months of being unable to conceive at 26 years old - I may have exaggerated slightly to boost me to a year, but I feel like I know somethings up anyway.

I had a progesterone blood test in advance but nothing has shown up due to my cycle being long that month (ovulation was way off) so was inconclusive.
So the gynaecologist has instructed me to get 5x blood samples for this cycle at my GP, then has referred me to get a hysterosalpingogram, which I am yet to book in. She also took a swab which I think was to confirm no STDs?!

The thought of a dye entering my ovaries scares me, I have anxiety so I worry about everything anyway. Realistically I know they wouldn't do anything to damage them ... obviously! But my worried mind makes me think otherwise, I can't help it. Lots of googling doesn't say anything of the sort, just some comments saying it hurts (I'm not bothered about that, I'll do whatever is necessary) does anything have any positive experiences to share please? I'll have to be having it soon as you need it early in your cycle, I'm on day 2 now so need to call up to book.

Thank you xx
