Missed pill...

Hi everyone!

So I just wanted some advice really. Last dtd on Sunday, forgot to take my pill on Friday so I took 2 on Saturday. Is there any chance I could get pregnant from missing one pill and only having sex 5-6 days ago? And has anyone been through anything similar? Help!!

I conceived DD1 on the pill.

Hate to scare you but you had sex and missed a pill. It’s not out of the realms of possibility. There’s no way of knowing 5-6 days post sex anyway as a test wouldn’t show a positive yet.

It’s ok, I just want peoples opinions really, no matter if they scare me a bit 🤣👍🏻 Did you take all your pills properly too?! I’ve heard a few people that that’s happened to! Which pill were you on? I just didn’t really know if there would still be any sperm there after 5-6 days really. Yeah I know I won’t know for a while, just working out whether to be concerned or not 🤣 x

I took all of my pills. I don’t actually know which pill it was. I was 19 and didn’t even know there were different types. 😂

Sperm can definitely last up to 7 days in some cases. It’s best to double up your protection and use a spermicide.

I will be doing, it’s just the time we did on Sunday that is worrying me a little and the fact I missed one pill and might have ovulated during that day. It’s crazy that so many people have gotten pregnant on the pill, and taking it properly too!! It makes out like it’s super super rare but I’ve heard it quite a lot! Xx

When is your period due? Wait another week or so and take a test.

It was 4 from the end, period is due in the next 4/5 days xx

When I was still on the pill, and I missed one and went to see a gynecologist she told me not to worry too nuch, as long as you take the pill within 24h, so 2 on one day. However, if you forget one in the first week, chances to get pregnant are higher than missing one in the other 2 weeks. If I remember correctly, the pill itself is around 99.8 % effective, it will go down to 98.5% or so. So still very safe.
