Dp and I are starting TTC albeit with a quite sporadic sex life! I've been off the pill since April. Had two 'natural' periods now. My cycle seems to have snapped back to what it was pre pill quite quickly with a similar cycle length etc. We dtd yesterday and by my estimation I'm due to ovulate on Tuesday. Although I'm getting some symptoms already. Could this result in conception?
When would be the right time to test?

I doubt we will dtd again. We aren't actively trying, more seeing what happens. But both of us are really busy with fairly low libido and we don't want sex to become robotic just to conceive.

It could happen but at O-4 your odds wouldn't be fantastic. Even if you'd timed it perfectly for ovulation the odds only get as good as 25% ish.

If your OH would be willing to take care of himself (if you know what I mean) then it would definitely be worth trying the old syringe and ferti lily method as that could boost your chances by a lot!

Really? I didn't think chances were so small bang on ovulation!

I think your approach is fine if that’s suits you both but you need to be realistic about how long TTC is likely to take. There are lots of women on here who will DTD 5+ times in the 5 days up to and including ovulation and take many many months to conceive. Unfortunately sex will probably become robotic at some point whether you like it or not that is just the reality of TTC. If you are already symptom spotting one day after DTD then that tells me you are probably not well-suited to the relaxed approach and you will quickly be joining the rest of us on here taking temperatures and peeing on some kind of stick daily!

if you are relying on apps to guess ovulation then be wary about how inaccurate they might be especially if you are only DTD once near to that time. I have a 27 day cycle and apps would always predict ovulation for me on day 14 when it is actually day 12. Around 12DPO is probably the earliest sensible time to start testing but you are not going to know how many DPO you are so perhaps wait until 2/3 days before AF is due. Good luck!

@Hopefulhedgehog thank you, really helpful reply.

When I had my first dc from a previous relationship I fell pregnant from a 'one off' and I've perhaps fallen into the trap of thinking it'll happen like that again!

I loosely use an app to track my cycle but mostly I rely on symptoms of ovulation which are fairly obvious in my case, I have a pretty solid 30 day cycle too.
