Can ovulation bleeding be heavy?

My cycle has lengthened a lot recently (just as I started ttc, helpful!) and yesterday was roughly ovulation according to theory. I’m not sure as it’s changed and opks are not helping. I was bleeding today, started brown but moved to bright red, filling a light pad. Seems to have tapered off now though. I’ve never had ovulation bleeding, is this too much bleeding to be that? What else could it be? I’m frustrated with all these things changing so I don’t know where I’m at fertility wise, I thought at first it was my period coming at cd20...

I was told that ovulation bleeding would be very light and wouldn’t require any sanitary protection - but I’ve never had any, so I’m not 100%. What I thought was ovulation bleeding was actually breakthrough bleeding a few days before my period, which had never happened before but did for a few months before I conceived.

Have you had positive OPKs?

Have you just come off hormonal contraception? I had really normal regular periods, but had a few haywire months when I came off the pill. It took six months to settle down and then I conceived.

I had my implant removed in early feb. But I have two children already, both conceived 1-2 months after removing the implant, so it’s never been an issue before. This suddenly having a 35-40 day cycle instead of 28 days is completely new. As is bleeding ‘midcycle’ Confused.
I’m not sure ive had positive opks! I never get a clear result, sometimes a bit darker. Given I’ve conceived so quickly before I have no history to compare with - I do remember being very unsure the opks had shown a peak that month but then the pregnancy test indicated there must have been one.

Are you in your 40s!

I'm not sure about your bleeding sorry as I've never experienced that.

I just wanted to say though that I was the same cycle was when TTC, my cycles would be anywhere from 30 days to 47/48, occasionally missing cycles altogether, it was a nightmare!

I started taking these tablets after they were recommended to me and would highly recommend them! They regulated my period straight away and my period was coming at the same time every month so made things so much easier. Whether it was coincidence or not but not long after I started taking them (after 18months TTC) I got my BFP! I unfortunately MC'd and stopped taking them, when I decided to start taking them again 6 months later, I got pregnant that month, currently 39 weeks!

@timeisnotaline I took them in addition to the pregnacare vitamins. I also only took 2 a day rather than 4 as I was terrible at remembering in the morning!

Thank you - I'm in the hospital being induced now so fingers crossed 😁
