Aspirin from ovulation or positive preg test?

Hi all, due to a late loss (20weeks) and diagnosis of possible anti phospholipid syndrome as the cause, I was advised to take 75mg aspirin and deltaparin (heparin) injections when pregnant with my son in 2015/16

I’ve recently got a BFP and am waiting for a dr appointment... however I’ve done some reading and it now seems some people are being recommended aspirin from ovulation and also higher 150mg dose. Especially if you are over 40 (I’m 41)

Does Anyone have any recent experience of this? I could be 2 weeks until I can speak to a dr and I really want to give this pregnancy every possible chance!

Thanks

Hi OP. Sorry for your late loss, that must have been tough. Congratulations though on your latest BFP!

I have been doing lots of reading up on the subject of asprin following 3 early losses in a row. Although I don't have a diagnosis, I have been advised to take 75mg from a BFP too by a consultant. After reading around I decided to take 150mg from ovulation this month and I think I have got a BFP today. Obviously I am not a Dr so not going to recommend medication however I believe the new guidance on the NHS is 150mg. I think this changed recently so would be different from when you had your son. It depends on medical history, but for me there is no medical reason I can't take it. Plus after 3 losses I am willing to give anything a try. From reading round, 150mg is too low a dose to do harm and there are many success stories from other women who have taken in. However, like I say, I am not a medical professional! Hopefully the drs will get back to you soon. Good luck x

@Catmum55566 thanks for your reply and good luck this month! The only thing I have read about taking too early is that it can affect implantation- but I only saw that in one study. However that is why my consultant said to take from BFP. That was 6 years ago though!! Confused
