Positive IC and negative CB digital ?!

MrsTwentyNine · 12/05/2021 20:42

Hi all

So I can't quite believe I'm typing the words 'positive IC' on here but thats what I've just had within 2-3 mins of testing (see pic) (7 months of TTC but dragged out over a year+ due to getting covid etc etc)

I believe this was 9dpo but I'm still shocked how its so obvious! I took the test after a 2 hour hold...I've retested with a digital after a 1.5 hour hold and it says 'not pregnant' ....is this due to urine being too dilute ?? Do CB digitals take longer to show bfp ? Or maybe I'm truly not!!

Really clueless on how to feel currently Confused

Would really appreciate any insight :( Thanks in advance!

Hi hon! Take a deep breath and try to relax a bit. False positives are extremely rare so there's that. 9dpo is also quite early to test, many women don't even get a positive before AF was overdue.
So a positive showing up already is nice! And yes, the digital tests aren't as sensitive and need a much higher concentration of hcg to pick it up.
I would test maybe in two days again. The levels should double all 48 hours. Good luck and congratulations!

MrsTwentyNine · 12/05/2021 22:38

@Bundaberg84 thank you so much :) And thank you for taking the time to reply! My DH has been telling me the same thing for the past few hours....deep breaths...in and out...haha!

Thank you again :) Thats very reassuring. I will check again at the weekend!

The digitals take so long to turn positive, they should have a massive warning on them! Stick with a non digital when you test again. Best of luck op!

Bundaberg84 · 12/05/2021 22:43

Very welcome! Fingers crossed that it will be a sticky bean xx

MrsTwentyNine · 12/05/2021 23:03

@Alfxn thank you!!

Yesss they really need to. I looked at the box again and it says 65% chance detecting pregnancy 4 days before period. I'm about 5-6 days before so pretty much 50:50 if not less of it detecting it😂 Have a whole new level of respect for cheapies now...

Yes the digitals are super sensitive really so you're best taking them on or the day after your missed period. Take a frer one tomorrow

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 12/05/2021 23:06

You are testing too early to be sure! Sadly patience is the only way to know. We've all been there though.

MrsTwentyNine · 12/05/2021 23:27

@Horehound ordered on amazon! Will do!

@Lessofallthisunpleasantness you're absolutely right Sad And tbh I'm so used to seeing nothing whatsoever, this was just a "well that can't be right " moment 😂 I will report back with my updates for any future lurkers of this same issue!

SakuraEdenSwan1 · 13/05/2021 05:35

Posted then it glitched then just seen your update @MrsTwentyNine

This is so bizarre as I can see the line in your photo. I have everything crossed for you!

MrsTwentyNine · 13/05/2021 05:38

Thank you @SakuraEdenSwan1 !!

I am so confused ?! I thought FMU is always better and now of course I'm on the internet at 5am and reading about ladies who say SMU is better ...just so crushing when I was convinced yesterday's could not possibly be a negative
Sad

Leave it a few more days then retest, not sure what to think either!
firsttimemummy321 · 13/05/2021 06:31

What brand of ic is it? Both me and my husband and bathroom tap got very clear positives like this on one step tests that were faulty 😩

mummabear20202022 · 13/05/2021 08:20

The one step brand are awful with fmu I found to be honest, I'm 5 weeks, and although I found out super early about 2 weeks ago with fmu, they did not show ANY progression! smu was always darker with this brand for some reason!

mummabear20202022 · 13/05/2021 08:27

Sorry, I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant, definitely didn't get a positive at 7dpo, it was more like 13! I really hope you get your positive 🤞

MrsTwentyNine · 13/05/2021 08:43

@firsttimemummy321 yes these were one step!! I cannot believe it. I never thought they'd give me such clear false positives. I'm so upset! I'm just glad I didn't tell anyone else except DH Sad

@mummabear20202022 that is reassuring! I've ordered some FRER in the hope that I might have more luck with them this evening ...but I'm sort of losing hope

Oh op I'm so sorry about this! Try not to be too disheartened about the clear blue, I've been knocking about on these forums for years and I've seen many women not get a positive digital test until well after their missed period so just try and ignore that for now.
Regarding the positive and now negative test, I can't really say what's going on to be honest. I find that the FRER are the most reliable. My baby is one tomorrow and when I tested with him I did my first cheap test on a Monday which was stark BFN to go and get a fully positive bfp two days later. It could just be with you still be in call early in the TTw your hormones weren't picked up this morning possibly. I will try again with the early reader tests and see how you get on. I'm keeping everything crossed for you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

That's such a kind message thank you so much @november90 I will avoid testing for a few days and wait for AF if I can! I think my first clue should have been that it was so pink when I was only 9DPO 😑 And definitely will avoid CB digitals from what you're saying!
