False positive on First Respose

Just wondered if anyone has had false positive with FRER? I've had very a faint line on one today but my husband and I have been using condoms this month! Slightly confused by it as no idea how I could be pregnant!

I should add that I only took a test as had one left from a while ago and my period is 1 day late so thought I might as well use it! Didn't expect to see anything there!

IME getting a false positive with a FRER is unlikely. They've always been the most reliable brand. However, I have held them up to the light before and convinced myself I could see a faint line...but it turned out it was just the shadow of the test casing inside.

Was it within the timeframe or did it show up after that?

Yes though it's not a very good one and looked stronger in real life if that makes sense!

No contraception is 100% effective.

Did you use condoms all the time or only when you were in your fertile window?

Not convinced that there is a line there, test again ? Condoms are very effective but not infallible.

Oh gosh yes there is a definite but very faint line there! However, if you've used a FRER a day after af was due I'd expect to see a stronger line.

All I can advise is to retest again in a few days' time.

I mean yes, it's not impossible, even though it's unlikely. Do you have regular cycles otherwise?

They've been a little unsettled the last few months- I used to be 28 days but the last three months have ranged from 24-26. I'm going on it being another 26 day cycle but I could be wrong. Will see what happens. I always thought FRER was super reliable which is why I was surprised to see any line at all given the use of contraception this month. Will let you know!

Hey OP, did you buy the frer off Amazon? I got two packs and they had really bad indent lines! Could of sworn it was positive but it wasn’t, I’d maybe try another brand or get another batch from the shop x

I actually bought the test from Superdrug. I was thinking it's a bad indent line but it was pink (though impossible to see in that rubbish pic) so I'm really not sure. So confused! Will have to be patient and see how things go in the next few days!

I might try another brand though just to see.

I’m 3 days late now and thought I’d been getting faint lines on FRER, but others tests look good be negative. Really disappointed as it’s got my hopes up after trying for months but if it’s not positive now then it’s just an AF waiting game I think 😣

100% an indent! I've been getting the for the last 3 cycles with frer! So god knows what's going on with them! Pic attached

I get faint lines every month, the indent line is really prominent on them! Hope you get the result you want.

In another thread I read through yesterday, a poster had faint positives every month, but wasn't pregnant. So weird!

Gosh that's terrible if they they false hope like that! Not as reliable as they used to be it would seem!

And AF arrived for me today so it was def an indent line for me. Thanks so much for your comments though. X
