Failed medical management

Hi

Wasn’t sure which forum to post this on, I feel like there needs to be a new forum for ‘miscarriage’

I had my second lot of tablets yesterday for medical management. Whilst in hospital I had some pain, but nothing like the pain I experienced the first time I had medical management. I’ve had some bleeding since, but again not as much as before and only passed one clot (which wasn’t the sac)

I am wondering if this medical management has now failed. The EPU staff told me not to compare it to last time, but when I’ve had medical management previously, I’ve FELT that it’s worked.

Has anyone had experience of losing clots a few days later?

@MsK89 hi there. Firstly, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've had medical management before and it was very obvious it worked. Do you mean you've had another pregnancy loss prior to this one or is this a follow up of more medication for the same pregnancy? I had two doses for my miscarriage and the second dose was nothing like the first, but it cleared it all whereas the first lot didn't but was extremely traumatic.
Secondly, there is a miscarriage thread if you need it:

Hey @Stabal thanks for sharing that forum, I hadn’t seen it

Sorry my message wasn’t clear. I had medical management last year for a missed miscarriage and it was very painful. I lost a lot of blood and clots that day and the following day. The medical management I had yesterday was for a new missed miscarriage and it didn’t hurt as much and I haven’t lost as much blood. Just wondered if this means it’s definitely FAILED or if people have experienced a delay in it working. I only have my previous medical management to compare my experience too

I’m sorry you’ve also had to experience medical management, it’s so horrible isn’t it. I’ve had a natural miscarriage before also, and found it a lot easier to deal with

@MsK89 ahh okay I'm with you now. I wouldn't say it's definitely failed though there is quite a bit of a margin of people that it just didn't work for. Have your EPU got you booked in for a scan to check? I had an appointment 48 hours later to look and that's when they noticed there was still a lot of endometrial tissue left to come but the pregnancy had passed so I had the second dose. I then had another appointment a week later to check again. They were very good with me. I'd definitely ring back again and voice your concerns and ask to be checked

@Stabal no they didn’t book me anything else. I think maybe I’ll give it a couple more days then and call up if I don’t pass any clots
