Hi all
I’ve been trying to check my cervix as a way of knowing when I’m fertile etc... I’m finding it pretty hard to know what I’m feeling lol

Right now I’m 5Dpo - yesterday I thought it still felt pretty high and soft but today I’m pretty sure it feels lower and firmer... I’m confused now as I know it’s supposed to come low and firm after ovulation if you don’t get pregnant, but would that be right that I felt a change 5DPO??

There is still quite a bit of creamy CM (sorry Tmi)

Thanks for your help!

I tried this and promptly gave up - mine seemed to be different every time I checked! Sorry no words of wisdom, good luck!

@Hopefulhedgehog thanks anyway!

This hasn't been advised for sometime! Not only can you introduce infections, the cervix changes position throughout the day, so whatever you do feel is irrelevant. I assume you check CM from your description and know that egg white is fertile.

If you struggle with urine opk's, get a reusable saliva one. I never got a positive on a urine one, but the saliva one is great. Mine is 'maybe baby' but there are others available.

@honey2 your cervix after ovulation will be closed and firmer but I find mine is sometimes very low and very firm, and sometimes higher and softer (but still closed).

CM after ovulation is usually creamy/sticky/dry buy can be more fertile if you get a secondary estrogen surge (very normal).

Checking your cervix and CM are really useful for working out when you are fertile before ovulation but a bit useless afterwards. No cervical position or CM will indicate whether you are pregnant or not. So my advice is to leave it alone in your LP and let nature take its course 🤞

@Elouera thanks for your reply... yes I check CM and do get a result on opks so I’m all good for knowing when I’m fertile I also temp to confirm ov)
I was checking cervix post Ov to maybe see if I could detect early preg..

@Kay00 I think you are right, trawling the net I’ve seen such conflicting info some saying cervix ‘remains high’ if you are preg, others sites saying it comes down then only rises after a couple of weeks of pregnancy. I know I just need to be patient and wait for a missed period 🙈

Thing is I’m 41 and this might be our last month of trying before deciding we are done ☹️
