Clearblue showing ovulated twice?

Hello
Has anyone else had this? I al using clearblue dual (the purple 4 days fertile one).
It has said I ovulated last Friday (straight to solid smiley) and then again today (also straight to solid smiley). Checked today as I noticed fluid and thought that was strange.

Anyone else had this or any ideas? 🥺 x

Do you chart bbt as well?

I had a weird experience with my first time trying it this month. I had read mixed reviews so used the cheap tests as well. Don't forget it's picking up oestrogen also so could be that. What did it do on the days between the static smileys?

Hello
It didn't do anything as with the dual one once you have a solid smiley it stays for 48 hours. You can't keep testing as it has detected surge. You have to wait atleast 3 days to do it again but it shouldn't pick up two surges in one cycle it says 🤔

It's not designed to be tested again in the same cycle. It basically goes to peak once it detects a higher level of LH than the test before (it might be x5 the level). It then usually needs an empty circle or a flashing circle to reset and signal the start of a new cycle

Or......you could be pregnant.....on a molecular level ovulation tests can't tell the difference between LH and hcg which is why you can get a peak ovulation test when you are also already pregnant

Thank you, I think unlikely pregnant as although did DTD it was 3/4 days before first smiley as we didn't expect ovulation peak at that time as it is much earlier than usual in my cycles. This second smiley was a more usual expected time for ovulation.
I didn't know it could pick up other things so thank you for letting me know I appreciate the help 😊 x

The only time I got pregnant naturally and stayed pregnant was when I had an unexpectedly early peak smiley, much earlier than normal .....followed by another peak 4 days later when I decided to test again......

LittleDoveLove · 06/05/2021 17:45

I will do a test and check. How long after your first peak did you do your test, can you remember? Thank you

I think I got a peak around day 11/12 which was super early for me - usually day 13-15. I then got EWCM a couple of days later and tested maybe 4 days later and got another peak so told DH we had to have another early night as I just have messed the test up 🤣

LittleDoveLove · 06/05/2021 22:45

Haha, I'm sure he was more than happy 😂. do you think it was the first or the second peak you conceived on? I've read online I could have had a surge but not released and egg and it's realised and had another go at releasing one now! It's never happened that I know of before but I am getting on a bit - 38 so anything's possible isn't it!

Actually I recall he moaned about having to go again! 🤣

I'm not sure to be honest when I might have conceived..... I didn't get a BFP until cycle day 27 but that was with a Sainsbury test so not very sensitive and I know I had really bad implantation pains on day 27 (it's the only pregnancy I've felt them) which suggests i conceived on the second one but then again DD measured 4-5 days bigger at the 12 week scan so they changed my due date which suggests the first surge?
