Hello everyone,
Perhaps there is someone who has gone through this and could give me advice?
So my hubby and I have been trying for baby no 2 for a few months. Only in April did I start doing the ovulation test - and to my surprise, it turned out positive very early in my cycle (usually 26-27 days long). However, we didn't have sex exactly that time but several days later. I just thought that is fine and now I know that I ovulate much earlier than I thought ( day 10) and we try again in May.
Now I am 5 days late and I have been cramping for days and nothing is happening. I have taken one test (this morning) and a bfn but I am going nuts. This has never happened before and I am anxious to just start the next cycle and try again - but what is going on? Could the ovulation test be wrong? could I have ovulated twice?

Any advice out there? :/

Hey! Sorry your going through this. So I know you can have two surges in a cycle where your body tries to ovulate but doesn't and then you surge again and ovulation happens, or you could have ovulated after the positive opk. Usually o happens a couple days after positive opk.

Did you carry on testing after your first positive opk? X

Have you just come off contraception or are still bf? These can have an effect. Also like the Pp said you may have ovulated later. I do ovulation tests and my temperature as my temperature confirms ovulation so I know it did happen and then I know when my period should be due. I hope you either get your positive or period (so you can try again) soon 🤞🏻

If you are 5 days late and getting a bfn then it is very unlikely you are pregnant. If you had sex later than 2 days after your positive OPK then you were probably too late. I have similar cycles 26/27 days and I generally get positive OPKs on day 10 and ovulate on day 11. Good luck!

Last cycle was strange because I thought I knew when I ovulated and didn't need these tests - joke on me. Because once I did the test - it was positive on day 10 but the next day it was negative.
Now, I am not even sleeping for pain in my uterus - it feels like a festival of cramps and bubbles. When I was pregnant 3 years ago - I was sure my period was coming when I tested when I was 2 days late - it was a big fat positive. But the first month - I just felt like I had some PMS but then it morphed into nausea.
I am very confused. If I were to be pregnant - then I would have ovulated later in the month.
If not, I will for sure measure my temperature as well using the ovulation tests.

Thank you all for your kind messages
