Clearblue Fertility Monitor - "High" on day 6

Elsbeth1 · 02/05/2021 11:56

I brought the Clearblue Fertility Monitor for this cycle and it says to start testing on cycle day 6 so I tried this morning and I immediately got a "high"

Does anyone know if this is just the norm for the first time using it? I was under the impression we were only fertile in the middle of our cycles (and I have a 31 day cycle)

Yes I have bought that monitor for this month as well and have been high since day 6, I am now day 13 still high and I normally ovulate on day 16? So I am not sure. I think it's the estrogen level that is high as it says LH not detected is yours the same.

Elsbeth1 · 03/05/2021 19:09

@JayJ90 maybe we have higher estrogen levels than normal which is why were high straight away?
I've researched and apparently once you get high it just remains high until it detects a LH surge which I guess in your case will be on day 16!

I'm only on day 2 and high today too - Have you been looking at the lines on the pee sticks? Mine look the same so far will try to attach a picture!

This is my first time doing OPKs so I'm not sure when I ovulate yet but hoping I get a peak this month as I read some people don't get a peak their first month?

I've also brought a second hand Ava fertility bracelet so I'm hoping this or Clearblue will give me an indication of ovulation this month fingers crossed!

Yes mine have been like that as well. I will let you know what happens on mine over the next few days. We have been trying for 6 months but this is our first month using this monitor so fingers crossed. My cycle has is always 27/28 days and ovulation has been day 16 since I have been tracking but only used the cheaper ovulation sticks so hoping the accuracy of the monitor will help. I keep telling my husband this month will be our month 🤞🤞🤞

JayJ90 · 03/05/2021 20:28

@Elsbeth1 sorry forgot to tag you.

Rmd123 · 03/05/2021 20:48

Hi! I got High Fertility on ClearBlue advanced on CD6 for 9 days then got peak on CD15 and ovulated CD17. Nearly 11 weeks pregnant now! Best of luck xx

JayJ90 · 03/05/2021 21:26

@Rmd123 oh that's very exciting!! Very happy for you. ❤️

Elsbeth1 · 03/05/2021 22:45

Fingers crossed for you @JayJ90 🤞🤞🤞I'm sure this will be your month :)
Have all your sticks been like that for the last 7 days?
Yeah please let me know if you get your peak and if it matches up with your past ovulation days!

@Rmd123 Congrats that's awesome StarStarStar
Gives us all hope Grin

It needs your first cycle to get a true baseline of your individual hormone levels as you've already said yours might naturally be higher than say what mine are but until you've done one cycle it can't see what level is pre lh surge and at lh surge for you etc so often on your firat cycle you can get some odd results. Keep using the same stick even when you buy a new pack of the sticks you click on as the more you use it the more sensitive to you it gets xx

Elsbeth1 · 04/05/2021 14:09

Thanks @sarahc336 Smile
Will keep persevering 🙏🙏🙏

Hey @JayJ90 how's it going? Did you get your peak in the end?

OP posts:
Elsbeth1 · 07/05/2021 18:16

I'm still on high 😬😬😬 and my stick today had no lines so i don't think it worked even though clearblue monitor just said high again!

Hi, I am sorry I didn't get the notification for your last comment and I thought I would come see how you have got on. Yes I got my peak on CD16 my period would be due this Tuesday and I am just hoping it doesn't arrive 🤞🤞 how have you got on @Elsbeth1 x

Elsbeth1 · 16/05/2021 17:37

Hey @JayJ90 good to hear from you Grin

Glad you got your peak on the right day and fingers crossed for you for Tuesday Smile
Let me know how it goes!

I actually just got my peak this morning on day 20!! I was getting worried but at least this month wasn't a waste!

I was wondering if you've been keeping track of your sticks though? I had a very strong left blue line yesterday which I've never had before so I thought this would result in a peak but it was only today that was peak (same strong left line today)
I wonder how the machine works and if it missed it yesterday Hmm

Oh no I just binned my sticks I've normally been keeping the sticks for every other time but when I got the monitor I just thought I would see how we got on. To be fair the machine for very accurate for me for my cycle. Fingers crossed for us both. Really hope this month is good news for us both 🤞 x

Elsbeth1 · 19/05/2021 13:02

@JayJ90 how are you getting on? Hoping you got your BFP 🤞🤞🤞

We managed to DTD on the 2 peak days so just a waiting game now for me :)

I have the fertility monitor as well, I love it! First cycle I used it I got pregnant! Sadly ended in a chemical, but still, it works. Fingers crossed for you!
I'm 5dpo, first cycle I'm really trying after the chemical.

JayJ90 · 19/05/2021 19:52

@Elsbeth1 sadly not for me this month. Its now been 6 cycles we have been trying and I am feeling very disheartened now. Think I am going to give up for peeing on sticks for the next month.

@Bundaberg84 so sorry to hear of your loss.

Fingers crossed for you both. Can I ask what either of you take for pre natal vitamins? I have been taking pregnacare for 6 months just wondered what you guys are doing? I will take any advice.

❤️

Elsbeth1 · 19/05/2021 20:26

I'm sorry @JayJ90 Sad
I can imagine it's really hard but just try to remind yourself that perfectly normal couples take up to a year to conceive ❤️

I mean your peak seems to be super regular so yeah you probably don't need to do the pee sticks!

I'm currently taking the pro conceive pills I'll attach a pic of the ingredients!
This is the first month I've been taking them though so not sure of their effect etc

I've also done the SMEP this month although we kind of failed at the last hurdle 😬, started drinking grapefruit juice, went to an acupuncturist (once) and started tracking my skin temperature with the Ava bracelet which I'm pretty confused about still 😂

@Elsbeth1 thank you for you advice.
Yes I completely agree these things take time for sure but it will happen one day. We have done SMEP for the last 2 cycles as well haha.
I think I just need to not think about any of it and then it will happen that's my next theory haha.
How long have you been trying for?

JayJ90 · 19/05/2021 21:22

@Elsbeth1i also forgot to say now I have used the monitor for a cycle I set it up for another cycle and the first day it requests a test is CD9 instead of CD6 so this must be how it gets to kmow your cycle even more precise I guess 😊

Elsbeth1 · 19/05/2021 21:59

@JayJ90 yeah it'll definitely happen just need to give it time although I super understand your frustration 😬😬😬

I'm only on my second month trying for first so my tips are pretty much useless unless I get pregnant this month 😂

Last month I was more stressed out and didn't do any tracking at all apart from apps which I now know are super inaccurate lol
I feel better this month and going into next month now I have more information 🙂

Omg SMEP is exhausting isn't it!! I started on day 6 not realising I'd get my peak on day 20 😬😬
We only managed to do 2 of the 3 consecutive days and I don't think we are doing the one for luck one at the end but hopefully it's enough anyway lol

Definitely going to start way waaay later next month 😂🥵

OP posts:
Elsbeth1 · 19/05/2021 22:01

@JayJ90 yeah I think stress is a huge factor when TTC! I think I'm going to try weekly reflexology next cycle if it doesn't happen this cycle 😬

That's good about the monitor though I used up all my 20 sticks this month 😬 but I have another 20 ready for next month 🙈

OP posts:
Bundaberg84 · 19/05/2021 22:18

I did SMEP this cycle as well, yes it's exhausting but husband is now in some kind of flow and thunks we can just continue like that, and I'm like no way I need a break!
As for vitamins, I take a store brand folic acid, also high dosed vitamin D and started with Q10 as well. And I also take Omega 3.

JayJ90 · 02/06/2021 20:45

How are you @Elsbeth1? ☺️🤞
