Hi

My wife and I are trying for a baby using a known donor. We are doing AI and last month was the first month we began to try.

My wife is 1 day late on her period, she was due to come on yesterday but didn't. This morning still nothing. This is unusual because she is like clockwork and hasn't been late for over a year.

We tracked ovulation last month and ended up having 9 high fertility days before we hit peak. We used the donor a number of 6 times, so plenty of opportunities.

We think we are now 12 DPO. We tested this morning but we got BFN.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this

If AF is late and tests are negative then I’m afraid it’s very unlikely your wife is pregnant this cycle. Good luck.

Been reading and some women have got their first positive 14/15/16 DPO.

Is this not accurate ?

It is different for everyone and ovulation can sometimes be out by a couple of days. Lines can be really faint too - I'd aim for a First Response test on 14dpo for a more reliable outcome.

Just looked and we are actually 11 DPO today not 12. Ordered some first response tests, will test in a few days time. It's just odd AF hasn't appeared, usually she's bang on time. Who knows hey?!

Does her period usually arrive at 10dpo? That's quite a short luteal phase and doesn't give a lot of time for implantation and a pregnancy getting established. Has progesterone support been suggested at any stage?

Her cycle is 24 days.

Excuse my ignorance, I'm not as clued up as some of you.

We hit peak on the 19th of April

We inseminated on the 14th to the 18th

Not sure if that gives more insight

Have you been to the doctors? 24 days is a short cycle, which is fine but you would hope to be ovulating around Cycle day 10-12 in that case.

What cycle day did you get a peak?

Can anyone see anything? Feel like I see a shadow. Maybe in my not , who knows lol

Hard to say. But there is usually an indent visible when you hold it up to the light so don't be fooled.
Try a First Response Early Result as they are pink dye and quite sensitive.
That being said I've done enough tests to know that when it's there, it's obvious!
