Would you assume this is faulty? It's shown positive before the control line has even shown

It looks like a cheap fake FRER copy, so I'd assume that it either doesn't work at all or that the test strip is in upside-down.

Any test that doesn't show a control line should be considered as invalid and discarded.

Thefaceofboe · 30/04/2021 17:35

Mine did this with a fake FRER off Amazon. I did 2 and they were both the same. If you read the reviews, they are pretty bad for them tests.

mummaB89 · 30/04/2021 17:39

Oh gosh that's so bad!

Yeah I would definitely say invalid OP, looks like the test might be in the wrong way and that may be the control line.

Try get your hands on another test if you can. Fingers crossed for you🤞

@mummaB89 I mistakenly bought First Response Rapid Result tests from amazon instead of a FRER pack and it looks similar to yours (not proper logo and no test result guidance on it). I also have a strong test line similarly although I do have a faint control line visible. Are you quite late for AF? I used an IC to compare and got a bit of a dye stealer on it so I think mines was because hCG was quite high as I was a week late, so a dye stealer. Hard to see on the photo but is there a faint line where the control line should be? I've attached mines so you can compare.

I also tried to leave a review on Amazon warning others that the rapid result tests aren't genuine First Response tests but amazon emailed saying the review was rejected! The cheek 🤣 it's so easy to accidentally order it instead of the FRERs

firsttimemummy321 · 30/04/2021 18:35

I agree if there is a line there it could be high levels or could be faulty 🙈 when is af due?

mummaB89 · 01/05/2021 20:46

@2020mission mine looks exactly the same as yours. Think mine was a bad picture. I am in fact 6 weeks pregnant. So bad that these are allowed to be sold!

2020mission · 01/05/2021 20:59

I'm almost 6 weeks too @mummaB89 congrats! Did you try any other brands of tests? Definitely don't worry about those fake First Response tests anyway 😅

NoCallerID · 01/05/2021 21:26

Um, they are genuine. They are just dye stealers because you guys are very much very pregnant. This is the official logo of the first response Rapid result. It has always been different to the early result ones so you can see the difference once unpacked...

2020mission · 01/05/2021 21:33

@NoCallerID yeah I'm aware it's a dye stealer, I mentioned that below. They don't seem genuine though as the first response rapid results don't show that logo on the products on their website and the wrapper didn't have first response branding on it.

NoCallerID · 01/05/2021 21:53

@2020mission They do though.....
