@justwant2beamum I always worry about drinking in the tww. I worry I have f'ed up implantation but then I think of all the people who get pregnant and drink for Britain! Literally alcoholics can have babies so I am sure a bit of over indulgence won't be too bad. I don't think I would have made it through these last few weeks without the odd drink.

kiwi17 · 13/06/2021 21:52

@justwant2beamum I haven't- didn't see much point as I had started spotting! Will see how long it goes on for as I don't really want to waste tests but could do I suppose! Didn't really think I could be pg though? Oh poor you - fingers still crossed for you and I don't think drinking will make any difference at this stage like @Soexcited said - think of all the people who don't realise they're pregnant and go out out! I don't avoid it in the tww now - I figure I'll deal with it when I get there but then I'm not a massive drinker anyway!

Soexciting · 13/06/2021 22:05

Feeling frustrated but can't really share with anyone else. Following the advice from @Babyghirl I thought maybe I am yet to ovulate so got to BDing. But my husband always takes so much time, it's like he forgets that we have an 18 month old upstairs or in the next room. I am all for romance but what is the point if at least 1 in 4 times she wakes up crying and no one finishes!
I can't complain to him or he will think that I only want him for sperm... I just feel that there is a time and a place for a long one...and that time is after a BFP! Grin

SLCxxx · 13/06/2021 22:20

🤣🤣 @Soexciting, that made me chuckle! Sorry you find yourself here 💕

@kiwi17 with my 2nd pregnancy I didn’t know I was pregnancy as I had the strangest period ever.. for a few hours I was on, then it was just spotting, then on again for a few hours.. turns out it much have been late implantation bleeding. 🤞🏻 for you

@justwant2beamum getting drunk wouldn’t have stopped your little bean implanting if it is going to, don’t be hard on yourself, it’s okay to live a little while ttc, it’s okay to not put everything on hold 💕 you have enough going on, we all do x

I had my 21 day bloods today. What is the normal people got for 21 day progesterone level bloods?

SLCxxx · 13/06/2021 22:21

Welcome also @HHMA, sorry for your loss, glad you found us though, these women are amazing x

Babyghirl · 13/06/2021 22:22

@justwant2beamum
Drinking won't do any harm only harm it will do is the hangover tomorrow 😂😂😂😂😂, you still have to live life while ttc your just relaxing about it all and that's the best approach to take implantation will only be happening so you will be fine, first time I lost I had just had an op was awake just local and on Co codamol 30 over 500 for 4 days I said to do could that have causeed it she said most definitely not as people take horin and still carry a healthy babes but at the time I did not know I was pregnant never found out for 2 weeks after that when I was 6 weeks and lost at 10+5. They say doing this and that can cause a miscarriage like drinking to much tea or eatting this and that look bck to when r grandmas where pregnant or r mothers my mum drunk tea like nobody else and she had 5 of us 💚

Babyghirl · 14/06/2021 08:08

@slcxxx
I had mine done once and it was 16.5 they said that was norm and no action needed but I l8r found out that is borderline as they say 16 and above means u ovulated. 💚

Annny27 · 14/06/2021 08:53

Thanks girls bit of a sore head today 🥴 I'm not really a big drinker I never just drink in the house, I've been trying to avoid but im feeling a bit sick of putting my life on hold.
@SLCxxx I also got day 21 progesterone done on Friday so we can compare notes. (I don't have results yet). Did you get day 3 ones too? Xx

Annny27 · 14/06/2021 12:23

@babyghirl ahh the worst part of the cycle for me is the excessive dtd 😂😂

@justwant2beamum I had progesterone tested last year and it was 60. And I am having it tested again this month too

kiwi17 · 14/06/2021 19:24

@Miscarriage39 how you doing? Has af started yet?

ELM7 · 14/06/2021 19:37

Hi Ladies sorry been quiet as nothing going on here but do keep checking in and reading through all the posts.

Just read this article and thought it was well put by Professor Robert Winston especially all the parts about the things we try to change while TTC and whether they actually make a difference.

www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/health-family/parenting/prof-robert-winston-the-publicity-around-ivf-is-very-misleading-1.4590525?mode=amp

ELM7 · 14/06/2021 19:37

Ps. I know the link says about ivf but it isn’t just about IVF.

ButtercupBlue · 14/06/2021 21:23

Well I've tried to post a pic twice now but it's not letting me so I'll just have to type it instead...I got a BFP this morning!!!!!! Apparently I was very very wrong when I said we'd missed ovulation this month!

EmmaABC2 · 14/06/2021 21:46

Hey everyone. I hope you don’t mind me joining- reading all your stories has really helped and I am so sorry for what you have all had to go through.

So on 28th May I had a miscarriage. I went for my scan the previous day when I should’ve been 13 weeks but was told the heartbeat had stopped at 10 weeks. I passed everything over night and since then the bleeding has slowed right down.
I started DTD 2 weeks after the miscarriage when the bleeding stopped. I had a positive opk on cd 15 but not sure if this was due to left over hormones as was getting v v v faint pregnancy tests. I have since got a negative pregnancy test so have no clue where I am in my cycle.
Do you think I ovulated or was it probably left over hormones? X

Soexciting · 14/06/2021 22:09

@ButtercupBlue congratulations! Wishing for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you and a lovely sticky bean x

Babyghirl · 14/06/2021 22:49

@ELM7
Such an interesting read thanx for posting 💚
@ButtercupBlue
Omg congratulations hope you have a healthy nine months💚
@EmmaABC2
Welcome to the group sorry you find yourself with us but glad you found us for support, as for the positive ovulation test it does pick up pregnancy hormone so thats prop where the positive test was coming from 💚

SLCxxx · 15/06/2021 07:04

@ButtercupBlue yay!!
🎉🎉 congratulations 🎉 🎉

@EmmaABC2 sorry for your loss, awful thing to go through. I agree with @Babyghirl that the positive OPK strips were due to the pregnancy hormones, but you never know.. won’t know until AF turns up again or doesn’t 🤞🏻

@justwant2beamum yeah I had day 3 bloods too. I have normal ranges for all the hormones and my progesterone was 60something. Have you had your results? @babyghirl >27 means you have ovulated so maybe your gp got it wrong?

@Annny27 good luck with the blood tests xx

These are normal ranges, sorry my results are on there but don’t have time to take them off

Babyghirl · 15/06/2021 08:55

@slcxxx
I was in touch with Tommys miscarriage association and was telling them and they said it was norm results aswell 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 that was on day 21 bloods but that was after my first loss so I was nt as screwed on as I am nw and I knw I ovulate around cd11/12 might phone and ask to have them done again 💚

ButtercupBlue · 15/06/2021 09:53

@EmmaABC2 Welcome to the thread and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with the others, that it's more than likely leftover hormones as it seems unlikely you'd be ovulating if still getting faint positives. That doesn't mean you won't ovulate though. I know a lot of people who've managed to fall pregnant again before their first period following a miscarriage, in fact I was one of them! After my first ever pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage at 5 weeks, I ovulated two weeks later and tested positive again a month on from when my bleeding had first started (and my baby from that pregnancy starts high school in September!!)

Thanks for all the congratulations messages. I think I'm still in shock tbh. I was so certain we'd missed ovulation this month, and AF isn't due until Saturday so there's no way I'd normally have tested but I had to get up for a wee in the early hours of Monday morning which is always an early symptom for me and then when DS2 hugged me before school yesterday my boobs felt a bit tender so it got me thinking 'what if...' I had tests in anyway so figured I might as well take one so I could enjoy a guilt free glass of wine knowing I definitely wasn't pregnant ...but it turns out I am!

It can only be very very early days (it's only 3w3d since AF) but the line was clear as day!

My aim is to take each day as it comes and not get carried away planning for every possible eventuality but I don't know how long that will last or easy it will be.

My two most recent losses in 2020 both happened at the same point in the pregnancy - everything looked good on an early scan at 6/7 weeks and then at 9 weeks we found out baby had stopped developing at around 8 weeks and I needed surgery both times (once under GA, once under local) so for me, my anxiety is probably going to be worst when it comes to scans.

ButtercupBlue · 15/06/2021 09:54

So sorry for the lack of paragraphs in that post! I swear they were there when I wrote it!

Miscarriage39 · 15/06/2021 10:52

Welcome Soexciting and EmmaABC2. Sorry you find yourselves here, but I hope you’ll find the group really helpful. I know I have.

Congratulations ButtercupBlue. I have everything crossed that you have a sticky bean with this one.

Kiwi17 I am really sorry your cycle is all over the place too! I hope the spotting lets up soon. According to my GP, it doesn’t mean you definitely won’t ovulate, so it might still be worth seeing what happens IYSWIM.

Yes, my period did arrive in Sunday which is a bit of a relief (in so far as feeling we can soon start trying again). I have no idea what is happening with my cycle!
