Dealing with anxiety when TCC

Hello dear ladies,

I would like to ask you how do you deal (or used to deal) with the anxiety during the TCC period?
I am on my 3rd month but starting to realize this feeling inside me is not healthy, when making tests and near the AF day. Husband is also very frustrated. Almost had a melt down today at the McDonald’s when I was getting lunch.. so I definitely need to learn how to deal with these feelings otherwise I will go nuts soon.

Thank you in advance ♥️

Hi @lorak01 sorry you're feeling anxious.

I have diagnosed Anxiety & PTSD and spoke to my GP before I started to TTC. They recommend (alongside the medical I take) to take the Rescue Remedy Chews to help during the day, the same brand bedtime tablets to help with sleep (both are herbal), to reduce caffeine and alcohol, to try and exercise every day (feel good hormones) even if it's just a walk outside and I also have counselling weekly on the phone (you can self refer or get GP referred for this) ♥️

Alongside this I've found journaling my journey, keeping accurate records of everything on apps, talking to my partner and best friend regularly about worries, breathing exercises (search on YouTube) and try and meditate daily (I use the Headspace App).
I've found the combination of these has really helped. I'm on Cycle 2 and am a million times more chilled than last month.

Don't feel alone at all though.
Hope something in there helps ♥️

Honestly no problem at all ♥️
I get how you feel, my first month I was so so anxious and stressed I had to ask for help.

You can do this though ♥️

VixFromThe6ix · 22/04/2021 17:39

@lorak01 great thread. I need all the help I can get in this department too. TTC #1 third month after our second Mc. I am so stressed all the time, my shoulder/neck area is stiff af. And on top of it all I think I'm having a chemical this month.
It's so lonely...god damn. I have one friend who I shared my journey with but she is 4 months pregnant and I just feel like I can't keep talking to her about my troubles and unsuccessful attempts every time, so I just dont talk to anyone.
My partner is supportive but I don't think understands what this is doing to me.
We got winter type weather this week so I haven't been outside since last week.
I don't know what to some working from home when my partner goes to work just leaves me with my thoughts all day and by the time he comes home I'm a mess.
@ohhisammi this has been such good advice. I may need to start meditation. Or else I think I'm gonna lose myself in all this

ohhisammi · 22/04/2021 18:32

Oh @VixFromThe6ix I'm sorry.
I get days like that too.

Something my councillor has said for me to do as well which I find helpful is to give my mood a 1-10 score every morning (1 being so depressed I can't get out of bed, 10 being super happy) and whatever the score is give myself that many tasks for the day that will make me feel better.
Eg. Go for a walk, meditate, make a smoothie, have a long bath, phone a friend, etc.
So if it's a really bad day, just make a tick list with one thing to do that day and then add to it if you feel up to it after. I usually choose walking the dog on my 1 days. And I usually end up adding to my list today has been a particularly good day and I've cleaned the house, walked the dog, had a bath, etc.
But the moral is not to be too hard on yourself ♥️
Usually I'm around a 3/4 so that's how many things I do.

YouTube has some lovely long videos I watch when I feel lonely.
I also have joined some TTC Facebook Groups
Hobbies distract me (when I have the energy to do them) eg audiobooks, painting, online shopping 😂)
In my journal I've also started writing a gratitude section where I write 5 things I'm grateful for everyday (no matter how small) - and I enjoy that.

♥️♥️♥️
We can do this girls

I need advice here too. Been trying since Oct 2020 and diagnosed with PCOS this month. Got myself worried and obsessed with trying to 'fix' myself almost every waking moment Blush

extrababydust123 · 22/04/2021 20:57

I just wanted to hop on here and send my love to all you lovely ladies. And I just wanted to say @ohhisammi you’ve given some wonderful advice and I will take a lot from it on my down days so thank you for that.

Hopefully we all get our BFP’s very soon ❤️

ohhisammi · 22/04/2021 22:10

Oh thank you @extrababydust123 ♥️

Sending you all so much love.
We all have to remember to cut ourselves some slack sometimes ♥️

ohhisammi · 22/04/2021 22:12

@sasbiscuit remember there's nothing wrong with you ♥️
There's a really good video on Natalie Crawford MD's YouTube channel about PCOS. She has loads of really good videos actually about fertility etc (she's a fertility doctor) I watch her a lot would really recommend ♥️

Maybe we could all use this thread as a safe place if we are having a down day to share worries etc ♥️

VixFromThe6ix · 22/04/2021 22:17

Big big hugs to anyone that can relate. I think we don't give ourselves enough credit for being strong and resilient during these moments of weakness.

@ohhisammi love your advice 🙏❤️ thank you

sasbiscuit · 23/04/2021 18:21

@ohhisammi thank you for the recommendation I'll take a watch of her channel Smile

ohhisammi · 23/04/2021 20:59

Hope everyone is feeling okay today ?

I've had a good mental health day today, my OH had the day off so we went and did some shopping, got a Starbucks and lunch (haven't done those things in SO long)
Tonight I'm going to make a Smoothie (found a recipe for a "Fertility Smoothie" on Pinterest) and paint my nails. ♥️

MamikH · 24/04/2021 00:09

Hello ladies,
Sending hugs to everyone! TTC journey is hard but we are harder!
Journalling helps me to...I process things as I write (or speak with my mum)... another thing that really helps me to calm down and feel instantly happier is EFT Tapping. Plenty of videos on YouTube. I like the Tapping Solution app which is free. It's like a short guided meditations whilst your tapping on the points on your face. It actually helped me to recover from covid too. We have great power inside! ;)
I also enjoy the little treats like getting a nice hot chocolate, doing my nails or dancing to my favourite songs in the kitchen whilst I make my lunch...every day can be turned around in every minute! Take care and be kind to yourself♥️
