Morning all,

I’m hoping for some advice from the temping experts among you!

We’re on our 3rd month TTC and I’ve been temping to try to confirm ovulation. However, I’ve noticed an overall drop in my BBT in both follicular and luteal phase this month compared to the last two: previously pre-ov temp was approx 36.4/ 36.5 and post-ov about 36.8/36.9, sometimes up to 37. This month pre-ov dropped down to 36.1 at one point, averaged about 36.3, with post ov about 36.6/7.

Does this just happen sometimes, or is it something I should be worried about? I’ve read somewhere that the optimal minimum luteal phase temp for ttc is 36.7 so I’m concerned that I’m getting some readings below that. I also suspect I might have had a chemical last month (only faint lines but on three different brands of test so surely not all evaps?) - could this account for the lower overall BBT this month?

Thank you!

It definitely happens sometimes! I find that if I have really high temps in my LP then my average temp next cycle seems to be higher. I've been temping since May last year and it does really vary.

Thank you @Juno231 this is very reassuring!
