Advice - weird opk pattern and no ovulation

Hi all, hoping somebody might be able to reassure me about my LH levels. Second month using opks and last month the levels were low right up until the eve i peaked, when it shot up and then went back down quite quickly the next day. The highest reading I got was .87 at 11pm and .85 the next morning so I'm guessing I went over 100 in the middle of the night.

This month I have had higher than usual readings the last four days but no peak. I'm certain I haven't missed it as I've been testing like a maniac. Does anybody else's levels do this too, high for a few days and then shoot up? I took vitamin b complex this month and I'm stressed that it might have messed up my cycle, still no ovulation and CD20 tomorrow.

Pic attached, ignore the ovulation day cause it ain't happened yet!

Not everyone gets a blazing positive, it's best to test for a few cycles to know what your peak looks like. What's your CM at the moment?
Also I wouldn't worry about the B-vits, I doubt that would have an effect. Some cycles are just a bit weird

Noodella18 · 18/04/2021 22:13

Thanks for the reply @suzy124. I guess you're right that I might just not get a blazing positive. But the tests deffo haven't been as high as last month.

I've had heavy EWCM the last 3 days and a mix of watery and light EWCM for 4 days before that, which is why it feels like it's dragging on a bit!

@Noodella18 what's your normal cycle length? Try not to stress about it (easier said than done I know). Your body is telling you that it's your fertile period so keep dtd if you can and I'm sure you'll get that peak v soon. You never know it could be tomorrow!

Noodella18 · 18/04/2021 22:43

@suzy124 I've had regular 28 day cycles every month since getting my period back after having my daughter. Last month (first month ttc again) it was 32, with ov on day 20. So it's going to be at least a 33 day cycle this month cause day 20 tomorrow and earliest ov would be day 21, then 12 day luteal period (probably). The change in my cycle length is why I was worried about the b complex, I was on pregnacare last month and this month just did folic acid and D and had a random bottle.of b complex knocking round and was like meh why not?! And have since read all this terrible stuff about it messing with ovulation.

Thanks for the encouragement, we're keeping on doing it every other day but it's realllllly starting to drag!

@Noodella18 hmm if you think it's having an effect I would go back to pregnacare next cycle if you felt more comfortable with it. Even if it's not, just the reassurance can have a positive impact. Also I think watching/waiting/testing for ovulation can delay it sometimes, so that's maybe why since ttc again your cycles are a tiny bit longer. I don't think it's anything to worry about though, as long as you're ovulating that's the main thing! Not sure how often you're dtd, but so you don't burn out maybe try every other day or SMEP? Keep me posted as to how you get on!

Noodella18 · 19/04/2021 11:39

@suzy124 thanks so much for the reassurance! You're right, I need to just chill out and trust it will happen. I had the attached opk just now, I'm not sure if it's quite there yet (test line is two-tone 🤦‍♀️) but it's definitely on the up. Just not the sudden surge I was anticipating :/

I saw on another thread that you got your period yesterday. So sorry to hear that and hope you're doing OK, especially given the other challenges you're facing re the mechanics of getting sperm and egg to meet. I hope you don't think I'm overstepping, and I'm sure you might have explored this option already, but I can recommend an excellent therapist (online sessions possible). My partner has some similar but not quite as severe issues and couples therapy has helped a lot.

Morning @Noodella18 I use the femometer strips too, don't worry a bit about the test line being two tone, mine look like that too. Do you use the intelligent recognition on the app? Looks to me like a good strong line maybe 80% so this could be your peak. If I had this I would get busy today! You may never get a line darker than the control and this is very common, doesn't mean anything bad. If you're confirming ovulation afterwards with bbt then you'll know what kind of line to expect each month.

And thank you for your kind words, not overstepping at all. I don't think my partner would be ready for couples therapy just yet and he's so optimistic that SI will work. Also he gets a bit annoyed when I tell him to chase up the referral with his doctor so I can only do so much. It's SI all the way for us at the moment and am starting the ball rolling with my GP next month to get some tests done.

Noodella18 · 19/04/2021 17:36

@suzy124 Woohoo! Positive result!!! Look at those lovely dark lines 😍 Best get on it tonight. And tomorrow night 😬

Best of luck with the SI and with the tests when they come. I think I remember reading that you're in your 30s? Come join us on the TTC 35+ thread! I think we're on thread 9 at the moment.

@Noodella18 yay!! So glad you got a strong positive to put your mind at ease. Fx this is your cycle!

Yeah I'm 34 and ttc my first. At this rate I hope it's triplets because I never wanna go through this again!!

Noodella18 · 19/04/2021 21:22

@suzy124 aww best of luck, I was 34 when I conceived my daughter :) I'm now 37 and hoping that we get lucky again - but not with triplets! Believe me, one newborn is MORE than enough. Your ovaries start jettisoning eggs as you get older I'm vaguely concerned that if we do conceive it might be twins... Let me know how you get on :)

OP posts:
suzy124 · 20/04/2021 09:24

@Noodella18 thank you. Ok maybe triplets was a bit strong but i'd definitely take twins! And will do, please let me know how you get on this month. I'm still picking myself up from the floor but I know when it's time to start trying again I'll feel a bit better x

suzy124 · 02/05/2021 12:46

Hi @Noodella18 just wanted to see how you got on last cycle? Any news? Smile

Noodella18 · 02/05/2021 14:11

Ah thanks for checking in! Cycle is still going 🙈 my temps were a bit funny after I got the positive so I'm not sure if I'm 10, 11 or 12 dpo. Had a negative test this morning so not holding out much hope, luteal period is 12 days I think so period due Monday -Weds. I'll let you know what happens! How are you doing? You must be in fertile week? All gone ok??

suzy124 · 02/05/2021 16:46

Everything crossed for you, it's not over till it's over! Yeah got my LH surge today so one or two more SI sessions then done for another month. Really trying not to stress about it, I was so depressed after last cycle I didn't even want to try this month yet here I am peeing on opks! x

Noodella18 · 19/05/2021 19:00

@suzy124 read on another thread that it wasn't your month last month... really sorry to hear that. No joy for me either! Currently in fertile week, but had a barney with my partner so have only managed one go at it! My LH is peaking today so will be trying to get him to do it tonight! Hope this month is a success for you xx

OP posts:
suzy124 · 19/05/2021 19:27

@Noodella18 aww thank you lovely! Really sorry to hear it wasn't your month either but exciting to be in your FW!

Definitely don't miss tonight! Even when my partner and I have had a barney I make him give me the goods anyway, I guess that's the one plus to insemination is we don't have to be on speaking terms at the time 😂 But maybe his sperm are too stubborn then to fertilise me anyway!

Wishing you all the luck this month, glad you're getting a nice LH peak too. Keep me posted xx
