Any tips on how to concieve a boy?

Obviously would love my child regardless so no judgement please. Any tips from you boy mums on what you did to concieve your boy?

And it turns out that not only was Shettles' theory debunked, he'd apparently misunderstood which were male sperm and which were female sperm.

I just used this - or something similar. I had a DS first and really wanted a DD so used this. It worked!

I also read that to have a boy you should put your legs above your head afterwards. Something to do with boy sperm being fast as opposed to girl sperm being strong.

Sperm are not XY or XX, they are Y or X. The egg is X so together with the sperm that makes XY (male) or XX (female). Basic biology!

The "methods" are all nonsense.

Just remember for the Chinese chart to use your lunar age and not your normal age. If you google lunar age calculator, that’ll give you your age and that’s the age you need to use

For a boy have sex on the day of ovulation or just after. For a girl it’s a couple of days or so before ovulation . Eating more dairy gives a higher chance of a girl. Those with less body fat are more likely to conceive boys.

Having not long joined mumsnet I am shocked at some of the horrendous people on here

The Chinese gender chart worked for me as well not that I wanted a boy at the time but it showed that I was going to have a boy.

It really is a 50/50 chance in the majority of cases.

I spent a lot of time looking for fun when TTC but honestly seen multiple Chinese calendars where some said boy and some said girl! In terms of the other methods like Shettles, its all been debunked but because it will have worked for around 50% of people by chance, you'll hear success stories as well.

Expecting our baby boy in just over 4 weeks and all I can tell you is we DTD every 2nd day throughout my whole cycle and every day during ovulation. I also put a pillow under by bum afterwards for at least 10 minutes after and didn't wipe until after the 10 minutes was up lol! Also, have fun with it so it doesn't feel like a chore. I found there was less pressure that way ☺️

It's 50/50. You can try any of the techniques above but there is little scientific evidence to back them up.

Is it not doggy style, have an orgasm, day of ovulation, eat meat and cheese type foods?

I had a boy after 3 girls didn’t do any of this barely even remember having sex I’m actually convinced DH cloned himself as the 3 DDs Jake my eyes and colouring, DS is a clone of his father even down to his walk and laugh, it’s quite scary I’m sure there is none of my DNA involved!!

Don't stress,it's all up to your DH/DP anyway.
However,I did conceive my 3DS at night,so long rest afterwards,relaxed etc.
My 4th was a girl after rushed,morning quickie and very stressful day (my oldest had serious bike accident that day,so I was rushing in and out of hospital for the next few days).

There is actually research showing that in ‘high stress’ situations, you are more likely to conceive a girl. It’s not clear why, but there seems to be an evolutionary reason (girls are easier to raise & marry off even when there’s less money/ food around.)

So the pandemic may not be the best time for conception of a boy!

In general though... I’d say try to relax, there’s little you can do to control it.

I'm fairly certain that I conceived all three of my children on the day I ovulated. Coincidentally, all of them are boys.

Yea same for my boy. I wanted a bit after my girl and I DTD on the day I ovulated. ( i get this nasty pain on ovulation day so i knew) and I had a boy
