Checking pregnancy with ovulation test?

Hello! I am brand new to the forum.
I am trying to conceive for three months now.
I am 6-7 d.p.o. and I know a pregnancy test will most likely test negative this early. But couldn't deal with my anxiety and used the last ovulation test I had to check if it would give me something because I read it could detect sometimes.

I used the Clearblue digital ovulation test, and it gave negative (circle without a smile). However I took the probe and could see two risks there - one stronger and other milder.
Would you girls know if it detected something? I do not know how to check it..

Hi @lorak01 - that is not a positive OPK. Please don’t torture yourself doing this just buy actual pregnancy tests if you are desperate to test. Good luck

@lorak01 Opks can detect the hcg as it can confuse the proteins or something but you can also surge before at. I just posted about this I did a pregnancy test just to be sure and it was negative (as expected) but my opk is a very strong positive so they are not reliable in that sense of defo get a pregnancy test instead as when the opk is detecting it a pregnancy test definitely would as well plus you're still super early it's highly likely implantation wouldn't have even happened yet 🤞🏻 for you

Thank you very much! Would you know when a pregnancy test would be reliable? Last month I waited until one day before my period but I would like to try earlier. There are still 8 days until period date.

Hello, My OPK were positive and detecting HCG a few days before period, but I also had positive HCG tests. So they can detect it, but aren't the reliable way to check, as they can detect sooooo many things. In my normal cycle I get dark lines on 2 or more random days with OPK, because I get a surge and then it drops. But I know when I am defo ovulating from other signs. So OPK are very sensitive anyways. If you can hold off 2 more days, can always use FRER or cheapies that at 10mlu :)

@lorak01 ideally the later the better some don't get a positive til after their period is due others get it quite early.

Even if you can pinpoint the day of ovulation with opk and temp rise it can still take a week or more to come down and implant and it's once it implants hcg starts to be produced, this doubles every 2- 3 days

I got a faint positive with my little one at 9dpo but many don't get one til later 🤞🏻 first response early results are the most sensitive

This is an opk for me at 4 weeks pregnant just to show it does work actually.

@HPmagic it can detect it but can also be positive and not be pregnant (here's mine with negative pregnancy test) 11dpo this was yesterday
