Fed Up

Hi Ladies

Just popping in for a moan! We've been TTC since last July and not even a flicker of a BFP yet.

I'm usually clockwork regular with 4-6 days of sporadic brown/pink spotting beforehand. This month I've had significantly less spotting and am now 3 days past AF being due yet still a glaring BFN.

I never say anything to DP when I'm testing as I don't ever want to get his hopes up, but it also means I can't whinge to him and nobody else knows we're TTC, so here I am

Thanks for the hugs! DP has gone for an after work drink so I'm going to indulge in watching something he wouldn't want to watch. Possibly One Born Every Minute which is likely to make me feel both worse and better at the same time

Being relatively new to Mumsnet, I am baffled by all the acronyms (BFP, BFN, TTC, DP, AF). So, like many posts, this one was just another to feel vexed about. Am I just old-fashioned for wanting to read English, French, Russian or German, because at least I can look them up in Google translate!

I feel you, I'm feeling super fed up, I'm in the spare room sulking and crying tonight and just about ready to give up tbh hence on MN at 2am

I had a nice walk in the sun yesterday which really lifted my spirits.

I'm sorry you're feeling low. I can safely say that you are not alone. We've only been trying since the beginning of the year and it's not been easy so I can't imagine how disappointed you feel.

The problem is that we are preconditioned to believe that it only takes one time. Which is true, but it's not until you TTC that you realise EVERYTHING has to be aligned for it to MAYBE work!

It's lonely and difficult not sharing your feelings with loved ones, but I can understand reasons not to tell anyone that you're trying. We're not just incase there's then added pressure. And none of us need that!!

@MakeMathsFun Sorry There is a dictionary of abbreviations on here somewhere, but for now...

BFN - Big Fat Negative
BFP - Big Fat Positive
AF - Aunt Flo / Period
TTC - Trying to conceive
CD10 (for example) - Cycle Day 10
BBT - Basal Body Temperature
POAS - Pee on a stick
OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit
CM - Cervical Mucus
DTD - Doing The Deed

They're all the conception ones I can think of, other boards have their own though! xx

DP - Dear Partner
DH - Dear Husband
DC - Dear Children
DD - Dear Daughter
DS - Dear Son
Ddog - You get the idea.

Sometimes these need a bit of consideration in the context of the post and a guess. DF can be Dear Father, Dear Friend or Dear Fiancé....

@MakeMathsFun I was you a week agow hen I joined.... It would be so frustrating to read anything but you'd be shocked how which I adapted to the acronyms 😊 when you read, some things just make sense and you'll think, ohh that's what that is... Like a puzzle piece to fall into place
