TTC with remaining pregnancy tissue

Hi, I'm going to try and keep this brief but after a bit of advice really. Got pregnant at the end of last year after 3 years of trying, but had to have a surgical termination for medical reasons at 13 weeks as the baby's heart wasn't developing. Obvs absolutely traumatic and devastating, and really keen to start trying again. Had the op 1st March, bled on and off for 4 weeks then got my period. I did a pregnancy test which was positive, and that's due to remaining tissue. They said nothing to worry about (no bleeding or pain etc) and that it should all go with next period.

My Q is, can I/should I TTC as I don't want to wait until my next cycle? They didn't give me a definitive answer at the hospital. They did pick up eggs on the scan, which I think means I will be ovulating this month as normal? I just want to know whether there's any risk involved with this leftover tissue and a possible foetus.

Thank you

So sorry this happened to you 🙏

I personally would wait till pregnancy test was no longer positive. I'm just not sure if the body can get pregnant when it still thinks it is?

Thanks @VixFromThe6ix - so the last test I did at the hospital did come up negative so I'm not really sure? It's frustrating that they didn't really seem to know at the hospital either?

@Frenchie86 if it's negative and you're ovulating, go for it!!! My doctor said, it's a disservice to yourself not to keep trying...so we are trying. I advise you the same. ❤️
It is frustrating however that they cannot do some kind of ultrasound or something to see if it's all clear for you. Even if for peace of mind.....

@VixFromThe6ix I completely agree, I'm not sure what your situation is, but it's hard to wait if you don't have to! I might phone them to go in for a second scan just to be on the safe side.
