Anyone else too scared to test early?

Been TTC nearly 3 years for baby #1. I'm 35 and this is my first month on metaformin and letrozole. I'm too scared to test, currently 9DPO and the bad reviews I've seen on Amazon for FRER have put me off. AF due on the 15th.

Hi op

I'll join you I am 7dpo and so scared. Been trying for months but this is the first month I have had a strong positive opk so fingers crossed it worked this time.

When are you going to test, I have no frer so will have to wait a bit longer for the normal ones

Hi!

Thank you!!! Glad I'm not on my own. Everyone just seems to test so early and I don't think I can bring myself to. Almost like hanging onto hope.

I'll leave it as long as I can I think. This is my first ovulation for a long time too, well according to CB digital anyway.

Fingers crossed for you!!

Hello, can I join please.. I’m 8/9dpo and AF is due 15th too! This is my first cycle TTC since a MMC in Dec. I’m usually a serial tester and always use FRER. What reviews have you seen online? I’ve never had a problem with them.

Hi,

So sorry to hear about your MMC.

Just that they're bad for evap/indent lines. I'm probably just going a little bit over the top. I tend to research everything far too much.

@Cheesesteak Ah I see. I’ve always thought CB were notorious for evap lines and FRER were much reliable.

How long are you hoping to hold out before testing? I seem to be symptom at every opportunity I can. I really need to get a grip, especially as we only dtd once in the fertile window.

Cheesesteak · 09/04/2021 13:30

@Boredinthehouse12 Me too. Every twinge, every extra wee, every boob pain is sending me into a tail spin. I've decided I'm testing Tuesday, lord knows what test I'll use. I was banking on a FRER but I'll just have to have a mooch around Sainsburys I think.

I've decided to test on Wednesday. I also don't like to test early because it disappoints me

tuxedocat · 09/04/2021 21:09

I’m the same here. My period is due 17th approx and I can’t even begin to want to test any earlier than that.
If I did test earlier, I’d be more worried and frantic something would go wrong!

I also read bad reviews about FRER on Amazon. A lot of them are fake tests, I had some refunded by Amazon last month

This month I have decided not to test early and just wait for AF. For me, the problem is with testing early is it doesn't help 'soften the blow' of knowing I'm not pregnant because I'm always thinking it might just be a bit too early and maybe I am actually pregnant! Seems such a waste.
My cycle is usually 28-30 days & I'm on CD 28. No signs of AF or pregnancy (I had a miscarriage in nov 2020 & my boobs were so sore and heavy from about 10 DPO), who knows? I feel much more chilled this month, last month I was really stressed and upset for the entire TWW.
This TTC nonsense is hard work!
Good luck everyone
