Possible ectopic/miscarriage?

Hi,

Hoping someone might be able to help as I'm quite worried.

I had a very, very faint bfp last Monday when I was 13dpo (I use OPKs so I'm pretty sure of when I ovulated). I was surprised because I'd had what I thought was the beginning of my period for a few days before that, but when that didn't turn into a full flow I was suspicious and took a test. I've been testing every morning since and the test line did get very slowly darker over the first week, but then started to get slightly lighter in the past few days.

Two days ago I also had some brown spotting which stopped yesterday and then came back today. I have barely any pregnancy symptoms (slightly sore boobs but nothing on my last pregnancy) and no pain at all.

When I started spotting I called the doctor and she said to wait it out and let her know if it got heavier or if I started to feel pain so she can send me for a blood test/scan.

I just wondered if anyone had ever experienced this and what the outcomes were? I'm about 5.5 weeks along now so if it's ectopic I might still not know as I've read that a lot of women don't have any pain until there's a rupture. I've had a chemical pregnancy before but that lasted only a few days and the tests were much fainter. So the other option is obviously an early miscarriage - but the bleeding hasn't got heavy at all yet, it's still just spots of blood.

I'm not holding out much hope that the pregnancy is viable - it's all seemed quite off from the start - but if anyone recognises these symptoms and has an idea what could be happening that would help as I'm really confused!

Many thanks xx

I'm sorry you're going through this worry. 🤞🏻 everything is fine for you but from what you've described with the lines getting lighter it sounds more likely to be a chemical (early loss) than ectopic. 🤞🏻 it's neither x

Thanks, I just wonder how long it will take for the miscarriage bleeding to start? I've had spotting on and off for three days now and no cramping. In a weird way, I'd quite like to get it over and done with so I can move on (emotionally and physically).

It might not be 🤞🏻
How are your lines now?

I've had a few and some I never actually bled at all other I bled then the tests went negative

@alliser so sorry to hear this. When was af due? Im currently going through a chemical which bleeding began Sunday all of a sudden (I got a faint CB test that morning too) I was 8 days late and based my cycle on 36 days. (Mine range 30-36 but going by opk I think it was definitely 36 day) I was getting dark frer but really light clearblue. I have read posts where some girls get bleeding and the baby is fine so fingers crossed its nothing to worry about for you! Xxx

@firsttimemummy321 My lines are still very clear but definitely lighter than they were a few days ago - and compared to my previous pregnancy they're about as dark as I was at 13dpo! (I'm now 22dpo) so not holding out much hope.

@Mrsmujic I hope this is the case too, but trying not to get too hopeful! I'm sorry to hear about your chemical this month. At least this way we find out sooner than later that it's not going to happen, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating/sad!
