Hello Everyone 👋🏼

I couldn't find a thread for this on here so thought I'd start one.

This is my first time TTC and I'd love to hear all your top tips or what you felt helped you when TTC and getting pregnant.

These can be; medical, holistic, products, exercises, foods, positions, apps, anything really !

Thank you to everyone who shares !

I'll pop a list of things I've found through research below (if any have worked for you / not worked for you) let me know !

Seven seas conception pills regulated my cycle and sorted out my luteal phase
Other then that I’d say orgasm after sed if you don’t during, to foul the semen up, and keep it in a while.. legs up style.
May or may not have been what finally worked for me 😂

jessstan2 · 06/04/2021 18:18

Sexual intercourse.

Fromneverland · 06/04/2021 18:19

Sex*

Pull not foul*

Chanel05 · 06/04/2021 18:20

The most frustrating concept of all: relaxing!

I tried EVERYTHING when ttc. Didn't work.

Greenrubber · 06/04/2021 18:25

Sorry everyone I'm an idiot and can't work out how to delete the other threads but will only comment on this one 🙄
But ....

So this is my second cycle TTC I'm 30 and live in the UK.
I have a slightly high BMI but otherwise no health conditions.
Had my Copper Coil removed End of Feb 2021.

Here's my list ....

What I did Cycle 1 (March 2021)
1.Tracked Cycle on Period Dairy App (for past 6 months)
2.Ate slightly healthier

  1. Increased vitamins
4.DTD alternative days while fertile 5.Drank Fertility Smoothie
  1. Reduced Alcohol (I don't drink a lot anyway)
*Didn't conceive this Cycle

Plans for Month 2 (April 2021)

  1. Track my Cycle on Period Diary App and added daily notes
  2. Track Cycle on Flo App and added daily notes (one day difference in ovulation to PD)
  3. DTD Daily in Fertile Window
  4. Eating a stricter, healthier diet and including foods that support fertility (Eggs, Avocado, Flaxseed, More Fruit + Veg, etc)
  5. Daily Fertility Smoothie
  6. Track Water to make sure I had 2L a day
  7. Drink Grapefruit Juice Daily (improved Cervical Mucus)
8.Take Specific Conception Vitamins (Conceive +) 9.Use Spermicidal Lubricant (Conceive +) 10. Partner takes Conception Vitamins (WellMan Conception) 11. Wear a “Pregnancy & Healing” Crystal Bracelet 12. Use an Essential Oil each night with Clary Sage, Lemon, Lemongrass & Juniper Berry 13. Do a Fertility Yoga Flow Twice a Day Everyday 14. Start Working Out Everyday (gently) 15. Do Pelvic Floors Daily 16. Drink Raspberry Leaf Tea 17. Swap Coffee for Green Tea

I'm not sure if any of these will make a difference 😂 they are all from blogs, recommendations from friends / MumsNet, etc
And I don't Ovulate for another 10 days so can't report back for a while.

Fromneverland · 06/04/2021 18:48

Second cycle?
I think you are being ott in sorry.. but just relaxing and having fun with it for the first 6 months is highly recommended.. your putting huge pressure on yourself and a massive focus on this before you have even tried.

cat8986 · 06/04/2021 18:52

That’s a long a list @ohhisammi !
But they all look like great changes for a healthy lifestyle so hopefully you’ll feel a difference within yourself as you go through this journey.

My tip - get a hobby! I spent my first 4 months TTC only thinking about TTC; researching, buying OPK, vitamins, all kinds of foods, drink and food restrictions, too much Mumsnet etc.
A couple of weeks ago, I bought a bike and put TTC right to the back of my kind whilst I enjoy getting out in the sunshine! And snow today!
We’re still TTC but I’m not doing anything to support. We’ll have sex at some points during my fertile window, whenever that is, and I feel genuinely content with that.

I actually feel more excited about riding my bike and getting exercise atm! I feel so much more relaxed because of it 🙂

ohhisammi · 06/04/2021 19:05

@Fromneverland
I know it's a bit of a long list 😂
But it's nothing that makes too much of an impact on my daily life 😌
I am also quite an OTT person 💃🏼😂
If I'm gunna do something I'm all in hahaha.
Im hoping everything will make me healthier in general 🥰 - and I'm not super bothered about alcohol and coffee.
I'm very much enjoying the process - not stressing, more over excited 😝

@cat8986
Exactly me at the mo.
Thank you for the lovely response.
I do yoga and read lots at the mo but might take up something new.

I think it's mainly the excitement of it all at the moment 😂

Good luck with TTC ♥️

:-)

It worked for me.

PM with your details and I will send you instructions in a plain brown envelope.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/04/2021 19:39

Goodness me, OP, that's a lot. I assume you don't mean spermicidal lubricant - that means it kills sperm!

You should be aware that a lot of your list is not evidence based, and some things might actually be a bad idea (for example some studies say green tea reduces your folic acid absorbtion and so is a bad idea!).

Are your cycles normal length and do you temp to confirm ovulation? If yes, then the only things that are evidence based are 1) folic acid and vitamin D 2) having sex every 2nd day over your fertile window.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/04/2021 19:40

PS: What is a fertility smoothie?

Greenrubber · 08/04/2021 19:49

Acupuncture is supposed to help I was told! Didn't try it myself but maybe worth a look into

jessstan2 · 08/04/2021 20:32

@TheDaydreamBelievers

PS: What is a fertility smoothie?
You play Barry White or Lionel Ritchie in the background.
AlfieandAnnieRose · 08/04/2021 20:35

@jessstan2 🤣🤣

ohhisammi · 08/04/2021 21:15

@jessstan2 exactly that !
How'd you know 😂

OP posts:
ohhisammi · 08/04/2021 22:36

Thank you @Greenrubber

OP posts:
ohhisammi · 08/04/2021 22:37

@TheDaydreamBelievers
Haha no I mean the opposite of spermicidal 😂 ooops

I'm not under any illusion any are proven like I said a lot are suggestions from friends, MN, blogs, etc

I'll definitely look into any negative effects though !

OP posts:
ohhisammi · 08/04/2021 22:40

@TheDaydreamBelievers
And a fertility smoothie is just a smoothie made from foods that promote fertility. Lots of variations online but basically a healthy smoothie.

WhySoSensitive · 08/04/2021 22:45

Stop the clary sage, it encourages cervical contraction. As in, I used it to put myself into labour and it shouldn’t be used in early pregnancy.
