Line eyes please - is this something?!

Having said I would never be this person, I've opened up a FRER taken this evening (had drunk a bottle of water beforehand and it's early evening here, so deff not FMU).

My period is due tomorrow according to Flo, but Thursday according to another app, and yesterday according to another. I recognise that having three apps with different dates isn't a very good system. My cycle can be a little bit wonky by a matter of days so we tend to do just aim to have sex every other day, which we manage for the most part unless he's been especially annoying or I'm especially moody.

ANYWAY, this is far too long now, basically I've turned into a monster, tested possibly early or on the day my period is due and I think I can see a very faint line on my FRER, despite initially thinking it was negative. Can anyone else see it? Test taken at 5.59, photos taken about 10-15 minutes later.

You can’t trust a line that you see after opening up a test as opening it affects drying time so it could be evaporation line.

Retest using FMU to be sure. Good luck!

LittleGwyneth · 05/04/2021 18:40

@Totallyworthit Ah - that's good to know. Though, not what I wanted to hear. Probably an evap then.

Annoying that it's opened, I've had pink evaps on opened frers before, but do take another because you never know!

Sexnotgender · 05/04/2021 18:51

There’s definitely a line there but I don’t know if it has any colour.

choccrumpet · 05/04/2021 19:05

Opening up a test doesn't make it invalid unless you've had it lying around for ages before looking/taking a photo.. was the line visible before you took it apart? It looks pretty pink and too obvious to be an evap. Take another one tomorrow just to be sure 🤗

LittleGwyneth · 05/04/2021 20:13

@choccrumpet only about five, maybe ten mins, before I opened it, but I don't think I could see a line before (hard to say now though). It's definitely pink in real life, but I'm not super confident as it did get darker after I opened it. Taking one tomorrow definitely the right idea. Thank you.

@Sexnotgender it has colour in real life but my totally healthy and non-obsessive Googling suggests FRERs can do a pink evap.

@GreenSlide I SWORE I would never be the open the test type - so much for my good intentions!

Thank you all so much for replying. Will let you know in case anyone finds this in years to come with a similarly frantic Google search.

You'll now get loads of posts about should you or shouldn't you open tests, really we shouldn't as yes it wont cause a Fake line but it can cause tests to dry out faster than normal which can sometimes show the indent line more clearly . However Your test does have a line but personally I'd test again leave the test unopened and check within 5 mins before you get excited, but good luck!!!! X

Update: FRER this morning with an almost invisible line, possibly no line, so no idea whats going on. Going to wait a week, have a glass of wine this evening and see whether AF arrives.

For anyone Googling this in the future - it was an evap. Don't be like me and open your test.
