Anyone else get scared to test?

I’m 2 days late and I’ve only ever been late once. We’ve been trying for 6 months after coming off the pill in October.

I don’t ever get any major symptoms before AF arrives. Abs very lucky to not suffer with cramping etc.

Anyway I’m two days late, and feel like I’m coming on. But have felt like that for the past 3 days. No cramps etc. Just that ‘feeling’

I don’t know really why I’m rambling. I just get scared to test and keep seeing the no’s. So I guess I’m just putting this off and fully expect Af to arrive.

The one month I was late, was by 5 days in December. I done 3 tests as I was convinced as had all the symptoms.

I guess I’m just wondering does anyone else get nervous to test knowing it may well be a no? Or did anyone get a positive and have no symptoms?

Yesterday I did think my cervix was low (TMI I’m sorry) but now it’s gone high again.
I just don’t know what to think xx

I had no symptoms when I fell pregnant with my daughter!

Maybe promise yourself your favourite (hopefully celebratory!) takeaway regardless, so you have something to look forward to.

Good luck! Bite the bullet. I've stated at many a bfn before and know how it feels.

I used to but the last few months I started testing less early then it’s not such a big thing cos I know it’s obv gonna be negative to start with 🤣 not sure that’s the right thing but it makes it less of a big thing lol I just use cheapies

Hi @Happythoughts91 I think I remember you from a previous ttc thread you started a while back 🙋🏻‍♀️
I'm the same age as you and being trying 6 cycles now too. I feel the same with testing but I did have a CP back in January when I tested early and then my AF came 3 days late. Has it ever occurred to you maybe you had the same when you've had late periods? There'd be no way of knowing if you didn't test and the lines can fade so quickly..

It's the only reason I think I would test early as once you've had a few CPs there's probably reason to go to the GP and for them to start investigations?

Hi everyone, thank you for your replies. Sorry I haven’t posted, I found the courage to test and it was positive 🎉 I tested and two strong lines came up straight away. I’m currently 5weeks and 1 day and feel no different. Apart from feeling ‘different’ I’ve had no proper symptoms. Xx

@Emmgrem Hi Emma, I think I remember you too. I tested 4 days late and I got two positive lines straight away.

I’ve only ever been late once previous, and I did test a few times and it was always negative. So definitely wasn’t pregnant. I think that’s where my nerves of testing started.

But this month was a positive 🎉 We conceived on the 6th month so don’t give up hope. I never thought it would of happened for us xxx

Omg!! I've just write almost the exact same post! Haha! I'm terrified of seeing ANOTHER negative test!!

Massive congrats. How late were you when you finally tested? I'm thinking I wait a week!

Happythoughts91 · 09/04/2021 11:57

Hi @Cakelaur

Thank you so so much. It’s really not sunk in yet. I have no symptoms so I don’t feel any different. So keep forgetting 🙈

I tested 4/5 after my missed period. I’m so glad I waited until I was late by a good few days. I didn’t want no squinting and the is it a line is it not a line.

How many days late are you? Will you test soon? Xx

I tested this morning!!! BFP!!! 11dpo. AF was due between yesterday and tomorrow.

Anyone else get scared to test?
Emmgrem · 09/04/2021 14:59

@Happythoughts91 That's wonderful news!!! Congratulations! 🎉❤️ So happy to hear you got your BFP in the end! Must have been lovely not having to squint at a faint line! Just shows you that what they say about 6 months for the pill to come out of your system totally is true.

I'm 9dpo on cycle 6 at the moment and planning to test on Sunday. Not had any symptoms but my chart looks good so hoping I'll be as lucky as you!

Were all your cycles up until your BFP pretty standard and did you do anything differently this time? xx

Happythoughts91 · 09/04/2021 18:15

@Cakelaur woooo congratulations? How are you feeling?? Have you told anyone yet? Xxx

@Emmgrem Thank you so so much. It’s not sunk in at all, i think because I feel no different it doesn’t seem real. Little bit worried I feel so normal 😂

Yes it took us 6 months exactly. We tracked ovulation every month using the clear glue digital opks. And we did use conceive plus, but whether that made a difference. Who knows.

Honestly I had no symptoms either. So fingers crossed. I had cramping on 7dpo, not painful nor constant dull. Now I know it must of been implantation. And then the day before I was due on, I woke up and my stomach muscles were in Agony. It was like I’d just done 500 sit ups. So maybe it was all linked.

Keep us posted xxx

@Happythoughts91
Just to update you I got my BFP today too at 11DPO 😅
Was so scared to see a stark white but I didn't even have to squint so I took a digital and a FRER after that 🙈
When are you due? Guess it must also be December? December is my birthday month too! 🎅🏻✨
So it took us 5.5 months / 6 cycles. Not that long in retrospect but feels so scary when you're going through it each month (I had a chemical pregnancy on cycle 3 too)
