It’s been a bustle few days!

@Janefx40 I hope IVF goes okay and as well as it can. Is that just to try and get the very best eggs? Just wondered why you'd do a back to back collection rather than collection then transfer.
It must be frustrating to know you don't have a chance of pregnancy for the next couple of cycles. Fingers crossed it'll be worth it for you 🤞❤️
Ooh an extension! You want to make sure you get it right as they're quite costly too aren't they? Something to look forward to and be distracted by as well!

@birdbybird how do you find vaginal temping? I just couldn't cope with doing it as soon as I woke up 😂 it's never a good idea to swap temping methods mid cycle as you so get completely different readings. For me vaginal temping was .3ish degrees higher than oral.
I hope you have ovulated as you think you have! 😊 Hope you've got chance for a relaxing weekend and things don't continue to be too busy!

@Janefx40 glad to hear your going for collection and I echo @birdbybird will be good to have a wee reserve so you can have a few cycles of trying although I hope that first time works for you x

I'm now 5dpo. My ovulation was very late this time round, I don't know if it's got something to do with the vitimins I'm taking.

Here's a list of what I'm taking now....

Conceive plus fertility support

Conceive plus ovulation support

Royal jelly ( although only starting taking them the other day as my friend had a massive supply and gave me some to try) 2 per day 200mg total.

Vitex fruit ( apparently a traditional support for the monthly cycle) 2 per day total of 800mg

Ubiquinol ( 300mg 1 per day)

And low dose aspirin.

And using my progesterone cream.

I'm not actually that positive this month. Due to my ovulation being a bit later ( which I hope is a good sign ) like I've said before I think my main problem is a short Phase between my AF finishing and my ovulation. I've recently ( past few months) been ovulating around day 11/12 but this month it was day 14 so I'm hoping that is a good sign.
So back to why I'm not feeling positive ? We did one traditional way ( yeeey hubby managed so 💦 inside) and only 2 SI.
Given that we've been trying to SI all 6 fertile days like I said not very positive this month.

I'm just feeling a bit meh about everything. Having a bit of a funk about the whole ttc as the months role on it feels never ending in some ways

Hello @MrsKin90 and apologies back for my late reply-we’ve been on a lovely staycation holiday this week. Lots and lots of walking, good food and beautiful scenery. Just what we’ve needed. I really do hope you’ve been well.

Had our consultation with a consultant at the clinic. Husbands sperm is all good, I’m all good apart from a naturally high amh level so my ivf drugs will have to be tailored for that. So I guess for us it’s either unexplained or husbands ED that has not helped us conceive.
I will need a procedure to have a camera through my cervix, they want to double check on the possible fibroid that it is one, and if it is, that it’s not growing into my womb cavity (as a fibroid can grow with pregnancy) If they believe there’s a problem there’ll be a procedure to shave it down. Gulp.
So he’s going to try and rush it through but we’re looking approx September for ivf starting.

I’m starting my period today, I yet again had a late ovulation on cd20 and today is cd37. The last three months I’ve had a later than normal ovulation date and period start. Had my second Covid jab yesterday and it’s absolutely whacked me out.

@Janefx40 I’m wishing you the very best of luck with the procedures you’ll be having. That’s really positive news that you’ll have a banked collection ready to use. I hope the next couple of months whizz by for you and I’m sure the house extension will keep you very busy!

@birdbybird well done on sticking with temping! I hope you’ve ovulated and that this month is your lucky month!

Hi all, long time no post for me as I've had a break after the Jan MMC but I've found the thread again and good to see everyone doing ok!
We are back trying again so fingers crossed! Although if it did happen then it would be slightly awkward timing as we are buying new house and hoping it will complete in a few months time. But trying not to worry about it unless it happens!

@Oilyoilyoilgob that procedure sounds complex but really good to have that ruled out/sorted out now rather than cause a problem later.

@Carol1980 we seem to be having a bout of late ovulations on this thread! I have heard people say that conception vitamins changed their cycles tho never did for me.

@birdbybird good luck for your call with the Gynae.

@MrsKin90 the point of doing bank to bank egg collections is that at my age very few eggs will be viable so rather than do a fresh transfer we collect as many embryos as possible, test them to see if any are normal and then transfer any healthy ones. If you collect eggs like this you avoid the delays caused by doing a fresh transfer (taking lots of drugs, delaying period and risking miscarriage which is distressing and also delays the next cycle even longer). It makes sense but testing is expensive so we may not do that bit in the end. We shall see. Start meds tomorrow

@MrsKin90 I’m finding vaginal temping a bit better than oral. And yes it seems 0.3 C or so higher than oral. Will test with a FRER on Thursday when I think I’ll be 10dpo.

Yeah I've noticed a few have commented on their late ovulation. I've been taking the concieve plus ones for about 2/3 months now so it's likely that it is doing something as when I first researched then it did say that it's best to start taking them regular about 3 months before starting to try 🤷‍♀️

I'm now 8/9 dpo ( I'm swaying whether to put ovulation down as the day I got ovulation pain or the day after) I got a frer delivered this afternoon as well as some IC and well it was negative. So knowing me I'll probably take a test in the morning.
Felt ok today but loaded with ANOTHER cold courtesy of my daughter !! Been peeing a lot this afternoon 🤷‍♀️ apart from that I feel ok. Nothing else symptom wise.
Monday there was a bad day....I felt so down for some reason. All I wanted to do was curl up in my bed and stay there. But thankfully felt much better and more myself the next day x

@Carol1980 Day14 is probably a healthier day to ovulate although a couple of days difference probably isn't that big a deal either way so don't let that play on your mind! Is it necessary to take both the fertility support and ovulation support pills? Hoping less is more for you this cycle in terms of the number of times you SI/DTD. Not long until you know one way or another 🤞🤞

Welcome back @bigsweetpotato. Buying a house sounds exciting and hopefully gives you enough distraction to take your mind off of this cycle. I hope you don't have to try for much longer before you get your healthy bean ❤️where are you in your cycle now?

@Oilyoilyoilgob sorry to hear AF was starting and that your ovulation was late! Your staycation sounds lovely 🥰 and September for IVF is exciting. Not too far away in the grand scheme of things and it'll be here before you know it. How are you feeling now? My second covid jab knocked me for six for about a week 😬. Everyone else I know was absolutely fine though.

@birdbybird fingers crossed for you. 10dpo is still early if that's where you are today so don't give up hope yet. I hope you're okay. BFNs are horrible 🙁

@Janefx40 thank you for explaining! It sounds a bit stressful but very interesting and I'm marvelling at how amazing science and medicine is. How are you feeling now you've started meds?

I'm CD23 today. I'm HOPING I ovulated yesterday but it was CD30something last cycle so who knows. I'm taking a very "throw the sperm up there and get on with life" approach to TTC. No legs in the air for me! If it's gonna happen it's going to be a miracle either way so I'm not sitting with my butt up waiting for it. Would be nice if I could at least go back to ovulating at more reasonable times though!!!

So I am in the two week wait now... not sure when Ovulation is since the mc and haven't got back in the swing of temping and peeing on sticks etc yet. Trying to relax a bit and just SI during what I think is my fertile week but who knows!
The other day, one of my friends revealed to me that she's due at the end of august which sent me in a bit of a tailspin emotionally. She hadn't told me earlier because of the mc but it still made me sad 😢 we are due to meet up so she didn't want to turn up with a bump. I'm glad she told me and I am happy for her but sad all the same. I'm sure it will get easier ...

Hello. Cautiously popping my head in. I got a vvvvfl on a FRER this morning. 11dpo. Can't tell if it has colour and I know the indents on FRERs are bad lately (although I couldn't see anything before it got wet).

After two chemicals last year, I can't get excited about a line but it's a pre-step if not a step on the pathway yet. Might call the clinic later. For various boring reasons, I haven't sent them my recurrent miscarriage blood test results yet (well there was a mixup with the lab and when they eventually did all the tests, I unexpectedly tested positive for glandular fever).

@bitheby oooo tentative congratulations. I understand your caution but it's a great first step.

I know people say that FRERs have indents but personally I've never found that and have always found them to be super reliable. The only tests I've found to have indents are the cheap ones but only several hours after the original test.

It's lovely to have some (potential) good news on this thread

Haha. Thank you. For my own sanity, I've convinced myself it's an indent so as not to get any hopes up. Luckily I have a busy day today. First meet up in person of a group I attend and first trip to the cinema in I don't know how long - 18 months possibly. So hopefully it will keep my mind off wondering.

Have been here twice before with stronger lines and still TTC#1 so not counting any chickens yet.

Hi all! First time on Mumsnet but very encouraged to find all your posts (and all the hundreds of previous ones I was reading late into last night!) My husband has ED and we've had one failed cycle of IUI so thought we'd give this a try while waiting for IVF. Don't think I'm holding out much hope of success tbh but feels better than doing nothing. Have some cheap ovulation kits which showed negative today but think I'll still give it a try later as I'm more relaxed at the weekend! Plus it's CD12 and I'm normally pretty regular at 28 days. Hopefully we'll be able to try another 1 or 2 times this month. Really appreciate all the tips and advice although will probably try and keep it simple this time!

I have news of my own. After a BFN at 10dpo on a frer I have what looks like a vvvvfl on a boots strip test this afternoon at 13dpo.
I had beige / light brown spotting yesterday so thought AF was on her way.

Hi @ejefferinton we crossposted. Welcome! If this is actually a line and not just eyes playing ticks on me then this will be the third positive test I’ve had in 7 months. So it does work! I’ve just not had a sticky one yet. I’m 40 by the way.

I think mine was an indent. Nothing on a FRER this morning. I hadn't got my hopes up but of course you do. The line from yesterday is still visible. Grrr.

AF could be due as early as tomorrow. Will see what transpires. Have another one to take first thing which I probably will just in case of any tiny bit of hope.

Looks like AF has started this evening. I've lost faith in FRER :(

At least it gave me a day of hope. I'm back in a dark place again now.

@bitheby I’m sorry. AF not started yet but the test this morning was pretty much BFN.

@birdbybird I'm so sorry. Looked promising for a while there. These things always feel so awful!

@Janefx40 the feeling of a negative test and then a missing period, is very similar to getting a positive test and than spotting. I’m just waiting for this misery to end the start of a new cycle and the happy hopeful feeling it brings.
