Wow @Sydney1986x I love your colour scheme and dress sounds incredible! So does the whole wedding to be honest with a singer and caricaturist and the venue too. We will def need some photos! It sounds like it’s going to be a magical day- you must be so excited!

@Janefx40 thank you it does fill me with more hope but I think until I see 2 lines on a pregnancy test I can’t quite believe it will happen yet - prob not the best attitude to have! I’m working on it! Well done on your first SI this month I wish you all the luck! X

@Oilyoilyoilgob ha go ovaries 🤣 I know I feel the same and mine was really dark last cycle which I normally don’t get so I thought omg maybe it’s twins - but no AF bloody came! Hopefully this is a better cycle for us all, fingers crossed for your BFP in a week!!

Morning everyone, I would just appreciate some advice as you seem to all be so supportive to one another on here! My partner and I tried the SI method last night using a pot and syringe. I had my legs in the air for about half an hour afterwards and slowly then lay on my back for the whole night while sleeping.

1. How far am I meant to push the syringe in? I obviously don't want to do any damage but want to make sure they are getting a chance of reaching the egg!
2. In the morning when I got up, there was a gush of liquid and not sure how much has actually got up there! It only takes one I know so there is always hope!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

@Oilyoilyoilgob it was definitely a little rant! Can't waste too much energy on complaining 😁I've sadly decided not to continue with acupuncture. I'd recommend it to anyone really and I know I didn't give it enough time to help my cycles but feel it would have helped that. I actually can't afford £200 a month right now when I could be spending that to have a healthier diet and invest in some weight loss or (hopefully not) private fertility treatments. I'm a bit gutted about it but it is what it is. I'm hoping to go back to it when I get my weight down. Sounds like you've got some exciting times ahead! 🥰 I hope it all goes okay and results are as they should be.

@primrosechill I'm so hopeful and praying you have got a sticky little embryo 🤞🤞 I can't even imagine what it's like so I won't try to, but my heart goes out to you. Tuesday will be here before you know it. ❤️
I don't think I'd like short cycles either! Why is it too much to ask to have 28-30day cycles? Pfft.

@birdbybird CD2! Rubbish. I hope AF is being kind to you. I haven't seen much about that baby, just the basics and it is incredible sad. However I actively avoid anything heartbreaking as I can't do anything about it and don't think I can cope with it. Especially to do with children or babies as it's just too much. How are you feeling about this cycle ahead?

@Dora202 what goes up, must come down 😉 I put the syringe in as far as it will go (after all that's what I'd do with a penis!!). It's normal even after sex for fluid to come back out as only the sperm get where they're going, all the fluid carrying the sperm has to make an exit. Sounds like you're on the right track with everything!

@primrosechill so lovely to hear from you. Glad you are coping ok with the 2WW. I'm also glad your clinic is doing bloods and is testing you at 10dp5dt which is equivalent to 15dpo. Some clinics wait for way longer which I think it unnecessary torture! I've taken all approaches with IVF, waited for bloods, tested on the day, tested super early. For me the best one is to test at home but only on the day or the day before. Testing any earlier only makes me more anxious whatever the result.

@MrsKin90 although you're not meant to read them, I find the lines on the CB digital that you see when you eject the test stick are a good indicator of how close I am to ovulation. When I'm getting closer the second line starts getting darker just like on a normal OPK.

@Sydney1986x I'm way too excited about your wedding for someone who's never met you!!! Your dress sounds gorgeous and the colour scheme too! It all sounds great. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

@Oilyoilyoilgob Not long now. So exciting. I'll admit I always go off acupuncture slightly during an IVF cycle! How many needles can one woman take?!!

@birdbybird it's so sad isn't it. Makes me go cold just thinking about their loss 😢

@Dora202 welcome. I figure a syringe is smaller than DPs penis so i just put it in as far as I can and still hold it. I use a calpol syringe so not that long. I also use a fertilily which keeps the sperm in place until I take it out but really it only needs to be inside you for 30 mins or so I think.

@Makingnumber2 thinking of you and hoping for things to be ok x

@Janefx40 yes not long for the ball to start rolling! I didn’t consider that but I’ll probably carry on 😅 had so many jabs and blood tests, I’m getting used to it now!

@Dora202 I put the syringe all the way in up to the wings/handles/stopper whatever they’re called! I think laying with pelvis tilted up and legs up is fine to help with gravity ☺️ Good luck!

WElcome @Dora202! I use 5ml round tip syringes and the last two times I’ve got pregnant it has been cycles I’ve used soft discs after the syringeing. As others have said I put the syringe in as eat it can go! I’ve also been taking ubiquinol this cycle a well as high strength vitamin d and conceive plus fertility support tablets. Who knows if any of it makes or has made a difference but I don’t think it’s done any harm! Wishing you all the best of luck with your SI.

@birdbybird I had my vaccination on Wednesday morning if it helps. From my perspective tho I wanted it done well before my next IVF cycle which is our best shot at conceiving - even tho we are TTC this month we don't have much of a chance naturally anyway x

@Janefx40 thank you for the tips re testing post ivf! After bragging about how relaxed I am about this whole process, I got a devilish urge to poas today and caved in 😂😂😂 it's a bfp. It's been 7 days since the transfer and 14 days since the trigger shot - so there is still a chance it's hcg from that but after extensive "research" (scrolling through all mumsnet threads) I concluded that with my particular dose of hormones, my trigger shot should have left my body about 3-4 days ago 🤔 so predictably, this has created more questions than answers lol. I am optimistic but will TRY to wait it out until tuesday bloods or AT LEAST give it 48h until another poas.

@primrosechill yay!!!! Congratulations. I tested out my trigger shot during my last cycle and I don't think you'd have a line that strong even if there was some trace of it left!!!

Thank you both! @Makingnumber2 7 days post transfer is equivalent to 12dpo so not THAT early - that said, with my previous pregnancy (which ended in MC) all I got was a massive squinter at this point so I'm allowing myself to be hopeful. What time is your test today?

I had my bloods done earlier and results just back. Levels now 700 and were 43 a week ago. So I was expecting higher but then realised they don't double every day they double every 48h. Anyway they've booked me a scan and more bloods for next Thursday so another appointment to count down to- but I am pleased the levels have gone up so much and hope this means it'll be a healthy and sticky bean xxx

Hi @Makingnumber2 that's great news. My levels were 700 at around the same time so that feels very hopeful.

Next Thursday isn't too long to wait at least. Glad they are monitoring you so closely. Just as a heads up I had a scan at 5 weeks 4 days (which is what you will be) and saw an embryonic sac and possibly something that could have been the yolk sac but the Dr wasn't sure. That was fine for that stage - you don't expect to see a definite fetal pole or heartbeat until 6 weeks at the very earliest. At 6 weeks 2 days we then saw the heartbeat etc. Just don't want you to stress if you don't see too much at that point.

Also good to know about what to expect at scan. I would have liked it to happen closer to 6 weeks but because currently they’re treating me as pregnancy of unknown location it has to be done ASAP. As soon as they locate something on my uterus I think all the scans and bloods and special care will immediately stop. It’s only because I had a BFP but nothing could be seen on the scan the other week that they’re monitoring so closely. I’m fully expecting to be dropped like a hot potato from Thursday 😂

Hope everyone is doing well and fx for more BFPs in May! I was so upset last cycle didn't work as was sure I felt symptoms so gonna try not to spot anymore. Coming to the end of my FW, first time using the clearblue advanced opk and loved it as definitely gave me more warning. We have been SI every day since flashing smiley and got my static yesterday so will SI again tonight and maybe tomorrow if dp can handle it.
