Clearblue ovulation kit question

I’ve got irregular cycles so used clear blue alongside temping this month. I had 6 days of empty circle, I had sex on the first day of these but not since, I then had a flashing smiley yesterday and had sex. I was expecting a few more days of flashing so that I could dtd every day before my static but after only one day of flashing I had a static this morning. I will obviously have sex again today but I’ve now only managed to dtd twice/three times this cycle.

Do these not work how I thought? Do I need to dtd on the empty circle days too to be safe?

I think it's just individual how many days of flashing smileys you would get. Once you have an idea from temping which day you usually ovulate in your cycle then I would suggest starting DTD from 5 days before the earliest usual date regardless of what your OPK sticks are saying...then every night from your static smiley for 3 nights or until you crash!

Ps. Personally I prefer the more basic pink CB OPKs as I find the flashing smileys a bit pointless!
