Hiya I was looking for a new thread where people had been trying for a little while already and thought why not make a new one myself :)

I have just turned 30 and we have been trying since September 2020 so as AF has just arrived we will be going into our 8th cycle in April.

This will be our 1st and like most people on here I am so impatient to get that bfp! Even more so since we hit what appears to be a big milestone of over 6 months trying I seem to end up down a daily dr Google rabbit hole.

Just looking for people in a similar situation to ride out the twws with and to support one another :)

I am on another amazing group aswell but most of the people that started it at the same time as me have bfps now (which is amazing) but felt I needed a group to continue the ttc conversations with too as that has kept me going the last 8 months :) xxx

Hi @mackjm20 I'm 28 and we started ttc last August, month before you. This is our 8th month trying although within that we were trying casually for 4 and got serious (regular trying) about it in the last 4 months.

I feel the same impatience as you! We've had multiple super early losses but so far basic tests have come back clear. I do have a bicornuate uterus which I've been told shouldn't impact me conceiving.

I can't help but google every little thing, it's awful! This is constantly on my mind.

mackjm20 · 29/03/2021 12:08

Hi @choccrumpet nice to meet you :)

that’s so similar to us in that we were casual initially then literally tracking everything now :) opks/ bbt- you name it I’m tracking it lol!

Ah I’m so so sorry to hear about your early losses. I’ve not heard of a bicornunate uterus before so just had a little google and glad to hear it shouldn’t impact. Really hope you get your bfp soon!

Where are you in your cycle now?

I have got a blood clotting disorder which can impact pregnancy but also have been over googling and have convinced myself I may have pcos or cushions syndrome so booked in for some tests to put my mind at rest either way. I know it’s only been 8 months but it feels like a lifetime already!

it can become all consuming at times can’t it! I feel like it’s so reassuring to have these groups to not feel so alone as I don’t know about you but it’s not something we have spoken to friends and family about.

Xxx

@mackjm20 to be honest I'm tracking on and off, not consistently, as I feel it impacts my mental health. So I've been doing OPK strips this cycle but unsure if I want to continue as we're still trying to keep it "fun" (LOL) and as natural as possible.

I don't know how severe my uterus is, all I know is it's heart shaped when it should be like an upside down pear. Will only find out through pregnancy or a specialist when/if I get my appointment.

I am about 1/2 DPO at the moment, ovulated over the weekend but unsure when exactly. What about you?

Yes it's easy to overthink everything. I've had all basic tests done with my GP so there's no harm in you doing the same. I've found I've had to push for certain things and suggest what should be done but I guess they're not specialists at this point so it's not like they know exactly what needs to be done.

I'm taking aspirin atm to see if it helps but not doing anything else.

We've told close friends and family that we're trying but it's not something we speak about openly and nobody I know is going through this so it is very very lonely and difficult so groups like these do help.

mackjm20 · 30/03/2021 08:11

@choccrumpet yea the tracking does take the ‘fun’ away that’s for sure! I’ve only started tracking in January as was avoiding it before but feb I didn’t ovulate so now keeping tracking to try and see how regularly this happens.

Fingers crossed you get your appointment soon :)

AF arrived at the weekend so should be ovulating around the 9th according to the app. Ah I so hope it happens for you this cycle :)

Yea absolutely :) it’s good that they have done the basic tests though :) was the aspirin suggested by your gp? I’ve read that it can help online too :)

Yea it does feel lonely doesn’t it. We haven’t told anyone and 90% of the time I’m totally fine but the day AF arrives I literally just want to cry all day and it defo feels harder each month I think xx

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 30/03/2021 12:59

@mackjm20 tracking doesn't work for me so it's hard to find the balance.

The apps aren't always accurate but that sounds positive, should happen sometime soon for you!

I asked my GP about the aspirin and she couldn't prescribe it but has said she's heard of specialists doing so. I did my own research and concluded that it wouldn't hurt to try but might help so I'm trying it out. Took 75mg last cycle and increased to 150mg this cycle which is standard dose atm.

I feel the same as you during my period, it's super tough those few days back into a new cycle. We actually didn't try as much over my peak this time as both our birthdays are near Christmas and the due date would be in December so decided to leave it up to fate, if it happens this cycle we'd be over the moon but if it doesn't then it's not meant to be and we'll try again next cycle. So hopefully I won't be too upset if it doesn't since we did this on purpose 😅 but you never know how you'll actually react once there.

mackjm20 · 31/03/2021 08:04

@choccrumpet hard isn’t it. DJ has suggested no tracking this month and just dtd way more so will see if that works better lol!

That’s a good idea I may have a research and add that to the vitamins I already take- I’m going to rattle when I walk soon I think haha

Yea that makes total sense :) yea less pressure hopefully this cycle then! You know I wish that it was just a 1 day wait not two weeks as atleast then even though it would be over until the next month you wouldn’t have all the build up lol! I think that’s the worst bit xx

@choccrumpet how are you getting on this cycle :)? X

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 08/04/2021 09:49

Hey @mackjm20 I've had a few very faint tests but I'm not sure they're progressing. I'm nauseous, really sore boobs and cramping so have symptoms but they don't necessarily mean anything. With my history of losses I'm not counting on this just yet.

How are you getting on?

mackjm20 · 08/04/2021 10:17

@choccrumpet Omgosh I’m honestly keeping everything crossed for you lovely! Please keep me updated :) I am currently due to ovulate today so about to go into the tww :) x

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 08/04/2021 10:28

Thank you @mackjm20 💕 it's difficult to get your hopes up when the same thing keeps happening again and again ☹️ ahh best of luck this cycle!! It's nice being in that positive and hopeful stage of the cycle 😅

mackjm20 · 08/04/2021 11:38

@choccrumpet bless you I literally can’t even imagine how hard it must be :( I really hope they progress for you! How many days have you been testing? Xx

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 08/04/2021 11:47

@mackjm20 it sucks! Been testing for 4 days. I'm anywhere between 10-12 DPO, and potentially on the lower end so it's still early. I just don't think it'll end well. Only time will tell

mackjm20 · 08/04/2021 12:11

@choccrumpet bless you really hoping for you!!

Hi @mackjm20 I ended up getting my period so glad that's over with now. On to month 9. How are you?

mackjm20 · 12/04/2021 11:05

Hi @choccrumpet ah I’m sorry to hear that lovely! I’m currently 4dpo just waiting for the tww hell to end x

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 12/04/2021 11:08

@mackjm20 hopefully it goes by quickly for you! I'm trying soya isoflavones this cycle so am excited and hopeful it helps my ovulation. But this new month business is getting old now 😩

mackjm20 · 12/04/2021 14:27

@choccrumpet thank you :) oo what is that? I’ve never heard of it. Omgosh isn’t it just! I just had a friend who has met someone and got pregnant in a shorter time frame that we have been trying! Happy for her but just Feels like a lifetime sometimes x

OP posts:
Giraffe31 · 12/04/2021 16:25

Please could I join too? I’m also 28 and our first month of trying was sept 2020. Although strictly speaking we said we’re not going to try this month as my dsis is a January baby and HATES it! No offence to any jan babies!

choccrumpet · 12/04/2021 16:39

@mackjm20 it's a supplement used for menopause but in lower doses can also help when ttc (don't take my word for it, research it yourself!) so I'm hoping it brings my ovulation forward as I ovulate quite late in my cycle.

That must have been difficult for you! I can't imagine. Thankfully none of my friends are pregnant at the moment and I would be heartbroken if they did as we've been trying for a while.. I know it's horrible to say but that's how I would feel. I suppose you must get somewhat used to this after more time..

Hi @Giraffe31 My partner and I both have family's birthdays in January but we're not stopping, leaving it to Mother Nature. I personally don't like January that much myself but whatever happens happens. We started trying around similar times 🤗

mackjm20 · 12/04/2021 17:18

@Giraffe31 welcome :) you are similar timings to both of us :) nice to have others to talk to who it’s taken a while with aswell. Will this be your first? X

@choccrumpet thank you :) I will defo have a research as ovulation has been a nightmare some months not ovulating some super late so will defo have a look thanks :) yea 2 of my best friends have had babies recently and 2 currently pregnant so super happy for them but it’s mega hard! X

OP posts:
Giraffe31 · 12/04/2021 17:57

Thankyou! Yes it will be our first if/when it happens but I must admit i’m struggling with the positivity at the minute. @mackjm20 I know how you feel as 3 of my DH’s cousins have announced ‘happy accident’ pregnancies in the past 3 months so it’s hit me hard! Would it be you guys first too?

mackjm20 · 12/04/2021 18:19

@Giraffe31 yea first for us aswell. Oh gosh I’m sorry it’s so shit isn’t it- like you want to be happy for them but also want it to be you?! I try and stay positive but really struggle every time af arrives. Ive been taking vitamins exercising eating healthy tried no alcohol you name it I’ve tried it just hope it happens soon for us all :)

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 12/04/2021 19:12

Our first too @Giraffe31 feels like it's been a long time although I know others try for longer. We've had multiple chemical pregnancies so are no strangers to positive tests and seeing one doesn't necessarily fill us with happiness so it's been a crap experience honestly. Trying to make the best of it though, thinking this could be the last month of just us 2 before we begin the journey of becoming 3. But it does get harder with every month. I allow myself to be sad and upset when I get my period and feel that helps sort of reset every month. But definitely struggling and really really hoping it happens before the 1 year mark

mackjm20 · 13/04/2021 17:13

@choccrumpet hope we all start our journeys to become 3s soon :) yea I do the same have a couple of sad days after my period. My app put me back from 5dpo to 4dpo today based on bbt sometimes I wonder if tracking even works! I have no idea whether I am coming or going half the time as it changes so much x
