Progesterone Cream and LP Defect

Hi guys! A little bit about me.... I am now 47. I never planned on ttc at 47, I thought my family would be complete by now! My OH and I started ttc together in 2010. And here we are, STILL trying. All our tests are normal and doc just wrote us off with secondary infertility. In this time we have had 3 pregnancies together but each ending before 5 weeks.
As you can imagine I have done extensive research! I dread to think how many opk and hcg tests I have gone through! Well, now is our final push! We will quit on my 48th bday in the summer 😢
So now to my question (at last!):
My LP is only 10 days so this cycle I started to use progesterone cream internally since 2dpo. Well I can't believe it, today I see 13 dpo for the first time ever! I confirmed ov. As you can imagine after ttc all these years I am very in tune with the signs my body gives me. I certainly don't feel pregnant. I feel totally normal, boobs a little tender as usual before P comes. I tested this morning (I really don't know why I bother) bfn of course. My question is this, do I continue with the progesterone cream until P comes (will it come while I am using it?) or should I stop it today? Does anyone have any experience? I have been asking Dr Google but he doesn't know 🤣
Thank you and I wish you all the best luck in your ttc journeys xxx

Hi OP, I have used progesterone (pessaries, not cream) to lengthen my 10 day LP too. Personally I would use it until 14dpo, and stop it then if you test negative. A viable pregnancy should show up by then (I'm assuming you're sure of your ovulation date). Your period should arrive a day or two after stopping. If you test positive with the pessaries you need to continue to use them until 12 weeks of pregnancy - I'm unsure what you should do with the creams though as they aren't designed for this purpose - you may need to check this with your doctor. Good luck xxx

Meant to add - acupuncture is another good way to extend your LP if you can find a fertility specialist and afford it. It took my 10 day LP to 12/13 days. Can also help with egg quality.

Thanks for replying! Tomorrow is 14dpo so I will test then (so much hope and dreams lay in that little packet🥰). I have contacted my local acupuncturist and she almost laughed at me and told me I have left it too late...no one ever knows how long you have been trying 😞 xx

@Secondtimelucky74 that seems a bit harsh from the acupuncturist - obviously you are aware that age is an issue but would be contacting her in an effort to try everything. I don't see why age should affect the ability of acupuncture to lengthen your LP either. If you look on the Zita West website there is a list of affiliated fertility specialist acupuncturists on there by location. That's where I find mine and I know for a fact that she was treating ladies in their mid forties and was having success.
