Hey all! Today is ovulation day, the 2WW is about to begin. Anyone else on the same cycle? Let's agonise over possible symptoms together!

@luce2202 could you test with a frer to check?

@klm018 No, my chemist doesn't have them in until their next delivery which is Thursday, plus I'm not sure whether I want to spend that much on a test just after my period, it seems a bit silly to me. The test I used this morning was a Pro Mantis 10miu. I did get a faint positive before AF arrived so it might be a chemical and the levels are taking a bit to go down, although it's hands down the darkest one I've had since my last chemical, so I'm not sure😟 I fiddled with the brightness a bit, would you say it's pink in colour??

@luce2202 i can see why you are confused as I can see something there. Maybe keep testing with opk and if they get darker quickly then test again with a different pg test.

But there are so many acronyms and I'm not sure what they all mean can someone help me out. Thanks in advance guys!

I've been radio silence the last few weeks. Turns out that was the end of my bfp, after yet another chemical. I've been trying to take it easy this month, didn't track temp and maybe dtd around ovulation according to apps and OPK, 8DPO today and not feeling any different.
I'll be on my seventh month if I didn't catch it this time.

Thank you! @luce2202 I can now see how easy it is to slip into becoming obsessed with trying to concieve. This is only my first cycle, and I feel so much pressure/anxiety. I've never felt as ready as I do now to have a baby. I often find myself comparing myself to other people in terms of their age, I'm 34 by the way. Its so nice be able to talk so openly about the way I'm feeling with many other women who quite possibly feel the same.

As for the OPKs I'm finding that the most hardest thing to do. I'm reading so much contradcting information its driving me mad! Do I wee too early? Have I done them properly?

I basically start work at 5am and my first wee is around 3am... is that too early to carry out an ovulation test? X

@Nai86 it really can be a stressful and anxiety inducing but rest assured it can take healthy couples 6-12 months to conceive naturally anyway, unless you're one of the very lucky women to catch it straight away!

I'm fairly lucky than most women, I already have two children so I'm trying for my third. I'm very grateful for the two I've had, but it's so irritating now that I'm struggling to conceive when my last two were accidental! Very happy accidents though!

OPKS shouldn't be taken in the morning, they should be taken later as that's usually when a woman's surge appears I believe, it can take a few hours to reach the urine. Unless it's a clear blue which it does ask for first morning urine, the cheap strips should be done later in the day. I wouldn't drive yourself mad with them though, they're only an indication that your body is gearing up to release an egg, not that is. You usually have 12-36 hours after a positive OPK before you actually ovulate so I find it useful to track other signs such as cramps,cervical mucus, cervical position and how it feels.

There are plenty of us out there trying so you'll never be alone.

@luce2202 I wasn't expecting a reply so quickly so that in itself is a huge relief lol. Such a strange he time isn't it... stressful and exciting at the same time! Well a little about my cycle... I'm currently trying on CD 21 my period is due 5th June. My cycle is usually bang on 28days and my period lasts around 5 days. This month i was contemplating not using the OPKs and literally doing the deed daily!! I'm quite concerned that I haven't seen any CM?

I've gone ahead and bought convieve plus lube for myself and a ferti lilly to help keep the swimmers up there for a decent amount of time.

Do you think doing an Ovukation test around the 10am mark (without drinking fluids for 4 hours) will do the trick? Maybe even test twice a day. I'm just so scared of missing a surge

@Nai86 so you would of more than likely ovulated by now then! Some people don't get a lot of cervical mucus, sometimes it can pool up by your cervix but I have heard great things about fertility lube! Yet to use it myself though!

I tried that doing the deed daily last cycle and by the end it became just routine and not doing it because we enjoyed it, so my best piece of advice if you do go down that route is make it fun and don't wear yourself out too much!

I've had a LH surge around 10am so I'd definitely say yes! I've had peak OPK results without a hold with having liquid too. Test twice a day, mid morning and late afternoon/ early evening. That way you're definitely going to catch your peak. With my first month of OPK, I did them every time I went for a wee😂

@luce2202 lol ive got a busy schedule next month then! 10am tests, 2pm tests and evening tests along side doing the deed. Maybe I was doing it wrong last month, should have asked for advice way sooner! Seriously thank you for giving me a more indepth insight to all of this its been quite uplifting not feel as anxious and I kinda have an idea of what to do now and when, and that's down to you lovely people.

Hi girls, mind if I join also? Like @Lailarose67 I’m 2DPO! Ovulation was earlier than predicted this month. I’m trying to avoid doing a test for as long as possible!

@Nai86 yes you have! There's so much to trying for a baby that you don't realise! When I started actively trying I had no idea about the ins and outs! It's no problem, us ladies need to stick together!

@Lailarose67 testing early is so annoying, I wish I could hold out until then! Won't be long before you can test and hopefully it'll be your BFP!!

@HRP1990 welcome! I'd try and hold out until 12DPO depending on how long your luteal phase is, you'll get a more definitive answer!

Also just to give you ladies a morning update, I'm 9DPO and pretty sure I just got a faint line on a pro mantis internet cheapie! (I say this every month😂) I am so hoping this is my sticky BFP! My camera doesn't quite pick it up but I won't be testing until the 3rd now when my AF is due!

@luce2202 sorry to hear that af came, it's very disheartening and it's OK to be upset. Also I have a 4yo and my mum always makes similar remarks as our 1st was a surprise and all of my elder family have had lots of babies. They ran well but it doesn't help pressure wise does it lol.

We don’t have kids yet so I have nothing to compare it to but you’re correct my LP is actually 12 days so I’ll hold out 🤞🏻

Hey @K8Tee ! It's been a while since I've seen your name! So sorry it's a bfn this morning! You're not out yet though!! Honestly it's been much easier and taken less of a toll on me this month because I've not been obsessed with trying and I've actually taken a bit of time for myself which I think has helped!
I'll definitely update as soon as I know more!!

@HRP1990 thank you so much! It does get tiring, my partner loves it though because he gets action 10 x more than usual😂 I'm done after 3 days and don't want anymore!
