@Geriatric1234
Hi there , well this is my second month of using them and I had 2 surges last month and finally got a peak on CD 17. It went from negative to peak over night and no high fertility. Maca root is still working 🙈 x

Noodella18 · 07/04/2021 15:28

Yayyyy @climbershell ! That's so great!! Really good line too, lovely and strong! Congratulations, you must be pumped! Wishing you loads of luck for a happy and healthy 9 months! xx

Noodella18 · 07/04/2021 15:37

Just to expand on my maca root stealth dosing suggestion, I used this recipe from BBC and it was BANGING:

www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/bananabread_85720

I reduced the flour by 35g and replaced it with the same weight in maca powder (so 3.5g per slice with 10 slices per cake). I used kefir which we randomly had in the fridge rather than buttermilk, and I added about 50g of chopped up dark chocolate. It needed the full hour in the oven but is SO moist and you can't taste the maca at all. I'd probably cut the sugar by 50g because it's quite sweet with all that banana.

My partner LOVES it, which is great news :)

Husband’s next set of SA results are in. They’re worse in motility and morphology than before. I’m really tired and done with all this today. I just wish we could catch a break.

Geriatric1234 · 07/04/2021 16:32

@thislittlebird What were figures? Please don’t feel too rubbish, it’s my understanding that sperm quality can be significantly improved.

Geriatric1234 · 07/04/2021 16:33

@thislittlebird Also, when my bro-in-law did SA his results were really bad. On day they took for embryo they were great. It can change hour to hour. Xx

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 16:39

I hope they can change @Geriatric1234. I think his age might not be helping, I dunno. He’s been on supplements the fertility doc recommended for about 6 weeks, and the only improvement is vitality.

I don’t know how to work it out but his count was 124 mil, concentration 47 mil p/ml, motility (down) is 9% and morphology (also down) to 3.0, and vitality (up) to 44%.

I just wish we didn’t have to do all this waiting and waiting. If IVF is our best option I just want to get on with it, you know?

MgW1 · 07/04/2021 17:00

@thislittlebird
Get him on maca root !! Read up on it , it will help xx

TTCat39 · 07/04/2021 17:02

@thislittlebird We will shortly be waiting for SA results too. I'm sorry it's not as you had hoped but I agree with others that, from what I've read, they can often be affected/improved with diet/exercise/climate changes.
I'm having a positive day today, but my down days have been truly awful, so I know a little of how you're feeling. Thanks I so so want all of our stories to be positive very very soon.

Geriatric1234 · 07/04/2021 17:10

@thislittlebird Completely understand! What is the wait for now? And looking at Dr Google I don’t this those results are the worst! Xxx

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 17:15

Has anyone here seen SA result improvement on maca root? I’ll look into it but he is supposed to do the supplement he’s on for three months so I sort of want to let him finish that.

Yeah not the worst because count is high and seems to make up for it a bit but it’s a very low motility @Geriatric1234. I was really hoping to see that go up, not down.

Currently waiting for the gynaecologist appointment/fertility appointment in mid May. Feels like it’ll never get here.

He needs to exercise more, but it’s not like he’s super inactive, he just needs to lose a few pounds. Doesn’t drink much, eats well, is pescatarian, doesn’t smoke. Sigh.

MgW1 · 07/04/2021 17:49

@thislittlebird
Well exercise works wonders for sperm. My husband is on with couch to 5k so definately encourage that as well x

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 18:05

@MgW1 has your husband had improved results? He's got this stupid plantar fasciitis problem that no one is interested in especially, so he hasn't run in a few years now. It doesn't help because he seems so uninterested in exercising with the foot issue. I need to tell him to call again about it, don't know if it's worth sending him to my acupuncturist too.

notyetamumbuttrying · 07/04/2021 18:12

@thislittlebird mine took proxeed plus and it tripled his count and motility! It doubled his morphology. Well likely that and quitting smoking and cutting bk on binge drinking. He also started exercising more too and eating satsumas. Can yours go on long walks or cycle if he's got foot issues?

MgW1 · 07/04/2021 18:14

@thislittlebird
He has not had it tested but he is on an anti depressant and we have had 3 mc's. I had a mc before my daughter 8 yrs ago and he was on the same anti depressant then and 2 years after that when we conceived our son we had no issues and he had come off the medication by then.
So now after 3rd mc , he has cut down on a.d and taken up running and started maca root. x

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 18:23

I might have to get him to try proxeed next @notyetamumbuttrying

He barely drinks, he hasn't ever smoked, so I guess there's fewer improvement possibilities? He does walk as is, and he won't cycle with the sperm issues really. We're going away in a week and a half, we will be cycling then, but only a little bit. We are overflowing with oranges in this house, and nuts, I've been getting him to eat all this stuff, also fish.

But they do say it takes 3 months, he has another 6 weeks to go and I suppose we could request another test. I will try to encourage him to exercise more, we have a rowing machine he used to use.

That sounds like a good result @MgW1. Our issue seems to be egg meeting sperm Confused. I am thinking his results and mine make some sense with the lack of bfp ever.

lemonade83 · 07/04/2021 19:59

Omg!!! Just checked in and can't believe we have a BFP!! Congrats @climbershell!! Delighted for you.

lemonade83 · 07/04/2021 20:03

Sorry to hear of the BFNs and that some of you are feeling down...it is so hard. I went for general blood tests today to check vitamin d/magnesium/iron levels...i literally did to feel some control over situation!! I haven't tested for hormones/ amh etc yet...wouldn't be ready to face bad news on them...prefer to keep head in sand.
I was feeling quite down over weekend but facing into fw now and starting to get hopeful again! Fingers crossed for more BFPs...think a few more due to test soon!

Pamparam · 07/04/2021 20:25

@thislittlebird can you get him on that stuff that was mentioned before that got the women pregnant naturally at 48? Vague I realise... I’ll see if I can find it. @Geriatric1234 might remember! I’m sure all is not lost with it.

Pamparam · 07/04/2021 20:28

Shilajit - proper medical study that showed it increases most spent stats. Maybe worth a try? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20078516/

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 20:37

Thanks, I’ll have a look @Pamparam

Right now he’s annoyed that his results were better pre-supplement, but he has six more weeks to go on it. There’s so many options out there, it’s confusing.

Geriatric1234 · 07/04/2021 20:38

@Pamparam Just found it by scrolling through another thread and you beat me to it! 🤣 xx

Here’s the one she linked:

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 20:58

Thanks @Geriatric1234

I could cry my eyes out tonight. All this just feels so crap and I had and really bad day at the home office. Never met my deadline, will have to get up early and do it, I’ve lost the will right now.

Katiekattty · 07/04/2021 21:31

Sending you lots of hugs and positive energy @thislittlebird if there was ever time for a drink and some chocolate

thislittlebird · 07/04/2021 21:59

Thanks @Katiekattty, I haven’t had a drink but it’s very tempting lol
