Freaking out, clear blue weeks won’t change

Probably freaking out unnecessary but my anxiety is getting the better of me :(

Last period: 9th Feb
Cycle length: varies, around 30 days

According to the above I should be just under 6 weeks pregnant. I took a clear blue weeks test on Friday, it came up as “2-3 weeks” so I’ve taken another now and it’s said the same, “2-3 weeks”

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Bad or good I’d like to hear.

I will take another on Wednesday, I’m just getting myself worried

next time you test - try diluting the wee with some water and see if it makes a difference. If you're 6 weeks pregnant you could have had the hook effect kick in - which basically means your HCG is so high it makes pregnancy tests malfunction and go fainter/show fewer weeks thus preventing you from getting the 3+ option.

Firstly they are notoriously inaccurate for weeks. Secondly they count from conception so if you think you are 6 weeks - they'll show 3+ so your not out by 3 weeks, only a week or so.

I was a bit obsessed with progression but I used FRERs and looked at how dark the line was getting. I don't recommend this though - you'll drive yourself mad!

Oh interesting - I didn’t know this was a thing! I think I might grasp on to this, to save myself going mad 😬

What started out as curiosity has now just turned into anxiety and fearing the worst 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😂 I know I shouldn’t touch them with a barge pole and if I just sit tight and wait it out I’d find out anyway, it’s just put the fear in me

OP you’re 6 weeks tomorrow- book an early scan for yourself.

Toega · 22/03/2021 12:41

Mine never changed above 2-3 weeks. He's 3 months old now, so it's not always accurate.

YoBeaches · 22/03/2021 12:44

If you don't know when you ovulated or conceived, then the weeks calculator is simply a guide.

But, 2-3 weeks for you, on a 30 day cycle is about right by my count.

Yikes38 · 22/03/2021 17:17

😬 maybe I will test again Wednesday or Friday and if no change will book a private scan

2-3 weeks sounds about right if you think you are 6 weeks pregnant (they count from conception).

And yes it happened to me before. First test I got I got 2-3 weeks and I think a week later or so I took again and it should have def said 3+ and it still said 2-3. I freaked out so decided to stop testing. My baby is now 21 months ☺️.

Don’t drive yourself mad taking endless tests. If you are really worried you can always book an early scan.

Stop taking tests

PurBal · 22/03/2021 19:40

@Sunshinemummy7

Stop taking tests
This. You have no reason to freak out. Pregnancy tests give yes/no results. You are either pregnant (hence positive test) or not pregnant. You can't be "a little bit" pregnant.

I disagree. Some people have been able to discover chemicals and miscarriages by seeing that their HCG is not increasing and sometimes decreasing. I understand there’s a large threshold and there’s always room for error, however It’s clear from my post that I’m in a bit of a rabbit hole and I’m worried. Clear blue really succeeded on their marketing with me

I asked for positive (or negative) anecdotes, I didn’t ask for condescending messages. So thank you

Thank you. I’m just going to leave it alone now, whatever the outcome I will find out sooner or later ☺️
