TTC#2, age 38 after EMCS

Hello,
I had my son in 2012 after a long, agonising and drawn out labour. Got all the way through the contractions nearly to the end to be told he was stuck and he became distressed. I ended up having an EMCS and I was terrified, but after he was delivered he was absolutely fine and a big, strong, healthy lad at 9lb 11.
I was so relieved! The thing is, I'd love a sister or a brother for my son but am worried about what might happen next time. I know this is daft as no two labours and births are the same. I know there will be about at 9-10 year age gap (depending on when I conceive and how long it takes) which doesn't bother me at all . I'm more worried that I'm now in my late 30s and that it may lead to further complications. Also, would it mean I'll have to have a CS next time or would I be able to try for a VBAC? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge at all?
Thank you

Sorry just realised I typed that really badly and it is really disjointed (I'm not a native English speaker so sorry about errors)
