Clomid journey beginning!

Hi everyone! Thought I would jump on here and see if ther is anyone just starting out on their first clomid cycle? Partner and I have been trying for a year and a half, his tests all come back great. I have really irregular periods and don’t ovulate, never had a positive ovulation test. So am hoping clomid will be the help we need! Starting out on 50mg dose when AF arrives (due a few days ago) but not unusual to be late for me at all as cycle all over place and can feel AF is going to arrive any day now! So just wondering if there is anyone else on same journey so we can share our progress and how we are all feeling?? Sending luck to everyone on this journey xx

Hey! Funnily enough I’m in the exact same position as you! Been trying a year and a half, husbands tests all clear and I have had irregular periods for years now so it makes it really hard to confirm exactly what day ovulation occurs... or if it occurs at all! I’m on day 2 of clomid and praying it’ll work for us this month! The doctor seemed positive and said there’s a high chance in the first couple months.

Have you tried anything else prior to clomid? How old are you? (If you don’t mind me asking). It would be great to use this thread to keep eachother updated on the progress! Sending loads of baby dust!

Omg how crazy we are in the exact same position sounds like we were meant to meet so we can be in the same boat!! Haha! I’m 26. Same position as you periods are all over the shop. I have used clear blue ovulation tests and I always show high ovulation but never peak, which according to docs means my body is preparing to ovulate and the hormones rise but the egg doesn’t actually release. Which makes sense that I don’t ovulate with how often my periods sometimes are!
I haven’t tried anything else yet as it took us so long to even get the referral to fertility hospital and get the prescription! So this is first go. I have spoke to a few people about it and mixed reviews but I want to be positive!
Hopefully it will work for both of us as our only issue is not ovulating! Just waiting for AF to arrive so I can begin taking it Iv never wished for a period more in my life 😂😂

Yes you’re right this should do the trick considering our symptoms. And don’t worry about the disappointing reviews - everyone’s body works differently and it’s good to keep your mind stress free. I was panicking last week because I didn’t know when to expect my period and I was on CD 52! The minute I had a few glasses of wine and a Netflix and chill - bam! It came that night (but might have just been a coincidence 😂)

How are you feeling now any symptoms at all yet? Also did they tell you what day on your cycle you’re meant to aim to try and make the magic happen? 🤣 or are you just going to go from ovulation tests? And do you have the day 21 blood test to do as well?
Omg Netflix and chill always works when your late doesn’t it 😂😂 I’m sure I will be any day now but it’s typical to keep you waiting the one time you want your period to arrive! Xx

Hey, no not yet! We have been told to take it on CD 2-6 every cycle. Strange that yours is day 5? Thought was all the same but I am a newbie at this! Been waiting for AF the one time in my life I want my period to come it’s late 😂 but just been for a wee and think it’s just arriving now so il be starting on Saturday if that’s the case! How are you finding it? Any side affects? And is this your first cycle? I am going onto a 50mg dose to start with. Xx

@Clomidjourney2021 ye start day 5 I have seen on internet there's a vary of when to start? Not sure why ? I do ovulate myself though don't know

I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner! So I’m currently on cd11 have had 3 cycles now of 50mg no luck. Only been able to have one blood test which showed I didn’t ovulate as the other cycles I didn’t even make it to day 21! So they have put me up to 100mg for the next month then will be on 150mg. Think I’m only allowed 3 more months... the first month of taking it I had a positive OPK but then AF came 3 days later on cd15 which is so annoying! What about you?
