TTC after miscarriage

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me, I sadly had a mc at about 4/5 wks pregnant, the bleeding started 03.03.21 and stopped about 11.03.21 I’m not sure where I am with my cycles now, I did an clear blue ovulation test today which said high, and I also did a pregnancy test today (earlier than the hospital advised, they said 3 weeks from bleeding) which was negative, however today Iv just started lightly bleeding, is this my period? Am I ovulating in the next couple of days? I’m so confused? Any help would be much appreciated x

Unfortunately nobody can tell you.
Miscarriages ect can mess with your hormones so it could be anything ❤️

@Willow1982 sorry to hear you’re had a miscarriage, they are so traumatic both physically and emotionally.

Your body will take a while to settle down so expect random spotting as it’s still early days.

You can be very fertile after a miscarriage and do ovulate earlier and I was told this by a gynaecologist. This was also true for me as I fell pregnant straight after an early miscarriage but safely went onto miscarry that one at 9.5 weeks. I think in hindsight I should have taken the advice from EPU to wait for my first period to arrive.

Maybe start tracking your spotting and hopefully your body will get back into a normal routine soon xx

Thank you both for taking the time to respond, I think I shall just let my body do what it needs to do for the moment, I was thinking about TTC straight away, but this must be my bodies way of saying not yet!
I will keep tracking but try not to be obsessing!

@Willow1982 yes sometimes the hardest thing is to listen to our bodies but long term it’s the best thing. I wish you every luck for the future xx

@DMT1982 thank you, I have been reading this one, I find it helps so much to know your not alone, it’s difficult to talk to anyone else as I told no one I was pregnant as it was so early days and Iv told no one about the mc apart from mum and husband! And they really have no experience to help me!
Just to update, I had a peak on the ovulation stick yesterday, still brown spotting though so defo leaving it for this month as it’s such mixed messages and i still need to have a completely negative test to confirm, so thinking next month I’ll think about trying again xx

Hi there I am in similar situation to yourself. Had a miscarriage at 5 weeks two weeks ago today (8th March) and have no idea when I'll ovulate as we want to try again. I'm usually like clockwork when it comes to my periods - I only had bleeding till about 11th so 3 days max and had nothing since. But yday and today I've had really sore boobs and slight swinges in my tummy as tho I am going to start my period but think that's too soon? xx

@Willow1982. I was the same with my first miscarriage no one knew only my husband and mum plus mother in law, no friends and not even work. Then I had one at 9.5 weeks and had to tell work but only a couple of friends know so I understand what you mean about finding comfort chatting on here.

I think I ovulated early after my D&C procedure and was still brown spotting so it’s likely you are ovulating but your body is still settling down. I think it’ll thank you for waiting until you’ve had a period and then you’ll also know where you are with your cycle xx

@amandag64 I’m sorry to hear your in the same situation it’s a horrible and confusing time now isn’t it, the hospital told me don’t have unprotected sex for 3 weeks and get a negative test 3 weeks from mc. Trying to follow their advise but when I saw a peak on the ovulation test I was tempted to try again!!
I was so confused last week as I was testing with ovulation sticks, that said “high” on Friday yet I was slightly bleeding, then peak on Sunday with a slight brown discharge,
I think this small bleed was not period I think I am ovulating now, trying so hard to follow the advice Iv been given!xx
