Wow @kaylsd I'm super impressed with your husband. I'm really glad he supported you there. Good luck for your tests tomorrow XXX (and satin or floaty I'm sure you'll be gorgeous) XXX

Sorry you got AF @KatieLooLa but sounds like you have a plan.

I feel pretty much the same as everyone else regarding vaccine - I really want it. I have bad asthma and should have already been given it but have not for some reason but I also do not want to do anything that could in any way prevent me from getting pregnant and staying pregnant to term.

@veronika13 good luck lovely. I'm 34 as well. I've been trying the Femometer Ivy tests. I'm not 100% sold on them yet but I do like the little graph I got with them.

@MammaJ21 I’ve been weighing the pros and cons of the vaccine for a while, I’m not sure if it’ll effect my fertility but for me it’s a chance I have to take.
Have to admit I’m probably having the vaccine more to see my dad than anything else, he’s living in France atm and unfortunately has been diagnosed with cancer this last year. Haven’t seen him in nearly 4 years (other than FaceTime calls). So yeah I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about it x

MammaJ21 · 13/04/2021 09:12

@KatieLooLa I'm sorry to hear about your dad. sending lots of love. I totally get why you decide this!!

Thing is...it probably(hopefully) is fine anyway for fertility anyway. Just annoying there's no evidence etc for it!

We already have enough to think about and now this decision too 🙈

Question for you all... may sound silly, but when you get ewcm how long would you say you're fertile for then?

Veronika13 · 13/04/2021 09:42

Thanks @CycloGoose those charts look confusing though (and I work in that industry 😂) but really not sure what to analyse and just scared a bit haha. I think I might skip them just for this month and then try the Flo app and maybe a few opk the sticks. 🤞
(Why can't we just get pregnant when we decide to 😭)

kaylsd · 13/04/2021 10:18

@MammaJ21 I’m choosing not to have the vaccine at the moment, I’m not anti vaccine, I advise my patients and my family to Have it and I’m more than happy to have it after I’ve hopefully had a baby but I’ve been a little bit selfish and did want to postpone trying as we’ve already been trying for 8 month and
Now we are in the mist of being investigated as to why we haven’t caught on yet I don’t want to necessarily stop doing so 🙈 I don’t like the conflicting views and research that has been placed out there for people who’s TTC with the jab so I just thought I would rather wait :). I wear full PPE at all times at work, I do lateral flow tests twice a week and keep my distance as and where I can and I’ve already been unlucky having caught covid back in November 2020 plus I don’t plan on going away anytime soon as TTC is mine and hubs main focus over the upcoming time ahead which I think may be a requirement to go abroad (my speculation anyway) :) but if the guidance and the research improves and supports people who’s TTC to have the vaccine as it’s safe then I may have it sooner

@minthumbugs I keep telling my ovaries off for not playing, I’ve tried a new supplement this month called ovulation support from conceive plus I’m not sure if it’s working or anything but it’s something else to dabble in! I cannot wait for the day hopefully I can share the news with you guys when the time comes, whether we are in the April thread or December 2021 thread 😂😩🤞🏻

@KatieLooLa I see it as peace of mind of whatever the outcome it can be hopefully rectified to optimise our TTC journey, hubs being stubborn and ringing GP at end of month to book his SA as he’s started back gym yesterday and said his swimmers will be better once he’s exercised abit more 😂🙈 sending lots of hugs for your dad xxx

@CycloGoose thanks chicken! It’s just bloods and swabs today, I’ve even shaved my legs for the occasion so I dont get judged ;)! Was meaning to ask you how are you getting along with your new gadgets for your cycle? Would you recommend or isit too early to tell to see if your seeing any new benefit with the monitoring system :)?

minthumbugs · 13/04/2021 10:43

Is that your chart showing ovulation @CycloGoose? What CD are you on now, are you still doing SMEP?

So sorry to hear about your dad @KatieLooLa, that's really tough. Sending hugs X X
The decision definitely needs to be individual based on pros and cons, there are so many different factors that come into play! Hopefully things settle and you get to see him soon XX

@MammaJ21 I have no idea tbh, I'm rubbish with CM tracking I have no idea what it means 🙈 I think it maybe means ovulation is right around the corner? What CD are you on? No silly questions here!

@Veronika13 that would be lovely if we could just decide. Or even better if they delivered babies on Amazon prime 😂

@kaylsd those sound perfect! Hopefully they don't taste too bad. Oh don't, I hope it's not December 😆😩 lol in all seriousness, can't wait until we can all share our good news X x

justwant2beamum · 13/04/2021 14:38

I'm also in Scotland, I was pg in January and it was looking like sept till I got vaccine which was when I was due so I thought that's fine I'll just delay it a bit and get once baby here. Obvs Mc'd and now they're saying all adults by July. I don't like that initially it was "don't get if pg or ttc in next 3 months" and now it's "oh get vaccinated you'll be fine". I'm 27 and no high risk factors for covid so I'll take my chances and won't be getting it until (hopefully) we conceive and baby here.
If the vaccine completely stopped catching/transmission I'd be more inclined to get it to protect elderly DGP's etc but as it doesnt stop you catching it or passing it on I'm not taking any chances with fertility or another possible mc. Everyone's circumstances are different though and everyone has to do what they think is right for them :)

minthumbugs · 13/04/2021 15:02

omg are we the same person @justwant2beamum?

CycloGoose · 13/04/2021 16:04

I'm sorry to hear about your dad @katieloola that must be very hard XXX

@kaylsd They're not going to judge you! I did get nice and cleaned up before my scan but not when I went in to my GP as that was unplanned 😂
I'd definitely say that the accuracy of OvuSense is really good and lots of people with pcos use it. I don't think the ivy is any good for pcos really as it's LH tracking which can be all over the place.
@minthumbugs that's the ivy LH chart so should have been yesterday or today but we've run out of steam really 😂 How are you feeling now in the TWW?

KatieLooLa · 13/04/2021 17:05

Thank you everyone for your kind words, wasn’t looking for sympathy but is appreciated nonetheless!
I’ve pretty much accepted my dad’s condition, my mum is also in a similar way (leukaemia) but unlike my dad her cancer isn’t terminal. It’s hard sometimes and not gonna lie, there are times where I think about my dad and think I’m not ready to lose him, but he’s getting treatment and seems well in himself, but know it’ll get harder the worse he gets. As I say, right now he’s ok so staying positive for now x

MammaJ21 · 13/04/2021 17:33

@minthumbugs haha I know...I don't get it either. Earlier I thought it was ewcm..but now it doesn't seem that way. it just changes constantly.

Opk question: I had a positive yesterday I think. but today it's sooo faint. So my Q is...would it be super faint if I'm ovulating/about to? does the positive just occur before/when you're about to? or would you expect it to be positive if ovulating? dtd Sunday night.Had positive opk last night.but bow it's nowhere near positive.

@KatieLooLa Thinking of you lots. ♥️ Keep positive for now as you say. xx

MammaJ21 · 13/04/2021 17:37

Pictures for comparison
I'm aware the one is yesterday's so the lines may have changed over time to look different, but top one was same colour as control line yesterday.

Top one yesterday positive
Bottom one today negative

So I guess what I want to know is, has ov happened or could it still be happening. Is the surge before or would it continue during ov...confussing myself here.

TTC March / April
justwant2beamum · 13/04/2021 17:38

@MammaJ21 my OPK leaflet says ovulation 24-48hrs after positive test. I got peak Sunday afternoon, by Sunday night it was high (but not as dark as peak) then Monday was back to low again. I think some people have longer surges than others I must have quite a short surge x

MammaJ21 · 13/04/2021 17:49

@justwant2beamum that's what I thought, but I'd have thought it wouldn't have been as faint if ov? Just confusing myself over thinking! just wondering if dtd today would give a chance still if we dtd the night before positive too?

minthumbugs · 13/04/2021 18:36

@CycloGoose ooohhh that's exciting! I don't blame you getting tired out, we have well and truly had a rest the last few days haha. Being in the TWW has been a relief!

Oh @KatieLooLa that's such a shame. Staying positive is the only thing you can do really but we are here to listen if you're ever not feeling positive! X x

@MammaJ21 I think it's after you first get your surge which can be quite short as I know some people maybe get them late in the evening and miss it. So I would say you're probably ovulating today or tomorrow - doesn't hurt to DTD today if you are up for it!

justwant2beamum · 13/04/2021 22:02

@MammaJ21 I think the surge in LH causes the egg to know it's time to release, so you have the hormone surge, then it stops surging and goes back to normal and the egg releases. So don't think it necessarily has to still be high LH while ovulating. Some people get a longer surge so maybe they would have. Some peoples surge is really quick so might miss it it over night for example. I'd go by positive OPK yesterday so ovulation today. I'd DTD again today if you can

kaylsd · 14/04/2021 11:10

Good morning ladies or shall I say verging on good afternoon I hope everyone's okay! I had the strangest dream last night, I saw my first BFP and I was peeing on loads of stick to confirm that it was real and I even attended a early scan because I didn't think it was right what the test was showing.. I don't know if this is a sign but I'll bloody claim it as one! I had my bloods and swabs done yesterday so hoping by next week they'll be back to move forward :) my Femometer has changed date of ovulation to when I had that random peak of 124% with EWCM so it's changed me to 6 days post ovulation than 11 days late for period, I don't think my app can make its mind up yet as to what's going off with me 😂😂🙈 hope everyone is plodding on nicely just having a lul moment (which I've never had one of these at work ever) and thought I'd check in with the TTC mamas! Following the conversation my hub had with his family about us a TTC, my MIL made a comment last night that my Mable is my baby and it's okay if we are dog parents only.. I don't know whether this was a nice thing or not but hey ho 😂😂

Sending lots of love to everyone 🌈✨

minthumbugs · 14/04/2021 11:15

Morning @kaylsd 🥰

We will be around the same then! My app keeps trying to change my ovulation day but I feel like it definitely happened on Friday so I'm 5dpo. We can keep each other sane in the TWW 😂 Love the dream, hopefully it's not a dream but a premonition!! At least your MIL is trying... I think?! 🤦‍♀️

MammaJ21 · 14/04/2021 11:29

@kaylsd let's give the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a nice thing!

So going back to previous posts about the vaccine...I went to the drs (about something else) Whilst there, I mentioned about having the vaccine and TTC. He said there's no real evidence to show it affects fertility or even pregnancy. He said it might be worth getting the first dose at least and it you happen to fall pregnant then maybe reassess about having the second one. as the first gives good protection.
I kind of get this...as, if TTC takes months/a year etc, it's holding off having the vaccine. But it's still a worry! He advised to get it though maybe. Hmmmm

kaylsd · 14/04/2021 17:51

@minthumbugs we may be TWW twins! I'll Give her the benefit of the doubt maybe just this once ;)

I've learnt to take a lot of it as a pinch of salt! I've had look on system and my bloods are back, got one of the doctors to look at them (nurse perks) but I don't quite understand the ratio thing to see if I qualify as a suspected pcos? 😖😖 tried ringing my doctors they fobbed me off saying they aren't back - telling pork pies 😂😂😂 I might just chase them up next week to see what they will say 🤔 i was speaking to one of the girls at work about it today, she was similar to me, tried for a year & nothing, she ended up diagnosed with endometriosis had the lap and removal and started on clomid for 6 cycles and caught on on the 6th! I literally cannot wait to tell people the reality of behind my journey if happens as I do believe it's so hush hush on this side of it 🤐

@MammaJ21 i think it's going to be one of those of personal preference until solid guidance comes out, the risk factors and the plus or minus benefits, which ever decision it may be, aslong as your happy either way that's the main thing :) 🙋🏼‍♀️

MammaJ21 · 14/04/2021 21:09

Yes @kaylsd, I think you're right. Just frustrating that there's no 'right' or 'wrong' based on evidence for us all. Hope everyone is feeling ok! Do many of you get ovulation cramps? Can't say I 'normally' do to be honest, but have a few cramps, bit like af cramps. Is that what they'd feel like? (Not implantation as it would be too soon and unlikely) Never really notice them mid cycle/ovulation but maybe I'm just picking up more on things these days.

Happy hump day all x

CycloGoose · 14/04/2021 21:39

@kaylsd this is going to sound mad but that's what I saw in my dream as well when I said I'd dreamt you were pregnant. That's really bizarre! Maybe it's because that's kind of similar to the situation I went through.
You always have odd TWW dreams though so that's a good sign you might be in TWW at least!
I think your MIL probably was trying to be nice but some people just don't know how to do that.
Hope you have some luck with the docs explaining the ratios to you lovely. Fingers crossed XXX
@minthumbugs how is your TWW going?
I am feeling SO sick. I haven't even had my temp rise yet though. Wondering if it could be a side effect of some of the supplements maybe but I was driving around the peak district and I actually thought I was going to vomit. I do get car sick but never normally when I'm driving.

CycloGoose · 14/04/2021 21:40

@mammaj21 I don't think I get ovulation cramps but I sometimes get the pain in my ovaries xxx
