Hi all,
Been ttc since December. I used opks last month but didn't use the Premom app and didn't take photos of them. I was using p tracker app and based on the opks last month I think I ovulated about 3/4 days before my app estimated (cd12, estimated for 15 I think). I inputted my last few periods to Premom and it's estimated my ovulation to be tomorrow (cd14) but all of my opks are low (see pic). Does this happen for others at all? Just a bit unsure as new to doing opks and all the low results are a bit disheartening and not in line with results last month. Thanks for any responses x

I had this! I seem to ovulate between CD12 and CD17 so when I first started TTC I'd get to CD15-16 and would despair thinking I don't ovulate or that I'd missed as the previous cycle I would have ovulated by now.

Keep going basically, it's normal for ovulation to fluctuate and odds are you'll get a peak in the next few days :)

I will say this guessing game drove me mad so when I got to cycle 5 I added BBT into the mix and never looked back, it took all the guesswork out of the opks.

My apps were always completely wrong on my ovulation date. I have slightly longer cycles at 33/34 days and it would still estimate ovulation around days 14-17. Opks showed me that it usually happens for me around day 21/22.

Keep going with them and keep inputting them into premom, it might take a couple of months but you'll soon find your pattern.

Period tracker apps are simply the calendar method and don't take into consideration different lengths of luteal phases. Also it's perfectly normal to ovulate on a slightly different day each month. Again the apps don't account for that.

The only three I'm aware of that actually track fertility signs and BBT are: Fertility friend, natural cycles and Kindra (?).

You're best off looking into those if you want more accurate data.

Thanks all :) I had planned to track bbt but my thermometer packed up 2 days in and haven't sorted out getting a new one yet. My cycle length does vary a bit so perhaps it's that as well. It's just that worry isn't it, that maybe things aren't working as they 'should'. Thanks again x

@hullabaloo19 absolutely - and it's super easy to get stuck in a spiral where you catastrophise it and it feels way worse than it is. I had a cycle where I genuinely stopped testing with OPKs at CD13 cause I had a strop being convinced that I wasn't ovulating. Ridiculous to look back at now but at the time I was so caught up in it that I wasn't thinking straight.

hullabaloo19 · 17/03/2021 15:08

I think I've been more worried this time as well as I'm about 6 stone heavier than I was when I got pregnant with dd (9) and I've definitely been catastrophising because of that (as if I didn't make myself feel bad enough weight wise!) thinking I've damaged my fertility. Thanks :)

Thoughts please - premom app says this is low, but looks as dark as the test line to me?

The test is positive, but it seems a little old. If you didn't take the picture within the reading time frame, this might affect the app to read the actual result.

@AlisonT13 it wasn't old, within 10 mins of taking it. Had a high reading today though so not worried 👍 thanks

Hi all,

It is my first month using opks and the premom app. I got a peak but the app said it was 0.86. I changed it because the lines were the same colour. I was hoping to see my lh levels come back down but they keep creeping slightly up and down so just wondering if someone can help with whether this is normal or not? Just trying to work out if my body actually ovulated. I don't track temperature at the moment. I thought it was coming down but then yesterday got a higher reading which I had to change because I didn't agree with the app. I seem to get a higher reading when the control line is lighter. Could I not be hydrated enough? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you x

I'm never 100% with premom opk predictions. and LH levels can really fluctuate. Mine are a nightmare Grin I'd definitely recommend tracking BBT too.
