Can I actually be pregnant?!

Hi everyone,
I am so confused and reeling a little bit after two positive pregnancy tests this morning so hoping you may have some advice! We started ttc last month, but for various reasons have only dtd once this month on Saturday just gone. This morning, I got what I thought was my period, which is over a week early, which is unusual for me as I’m usually regular to the day. I then read about implantation bleeding, so out of curiosity did the tests (1 digital, one normal which was strongly positive). Surely only three days after sex isn’t enough for a positive, or implantation? I also don’t think I ovulated this month (not testing but usually can tell from ewcm). I know the answer is probably just to test again tomorrow, but the timing just seems so unlikely!

I'd say a strong positive 3 days after sex is definitely impossible! Is there a chance you could have got pregnant last month or earlier? What method of contraception were you using?

Yes it would have been possible for it to have been last month, as we were having sex regularly around the time I ovulated, but then I got my period as normal (although a bit shorter than usual). Not on any contraception as we’re taking a let’s try and see what happens approach...

Absolutely not possible from Saturday but I would say from last month for sure! I’ve heard that people can bleed for a few days, and it was shorter than normal. So you could be about 7/8 weeks!

It's not possible to get a positive pregnancy test 3 days after sex. Sounds like it is a positive from conceiving last month

Congratulations 🙂 give your GP a ring to discuss. They may want to scan you for dating and to check up on the bleeding.
