period or implantation bleeding???

ive been having regular unprotected sex this past month and im sure of one time my bf ejaculated in me, so there’s a chance i could be pregnant, my period is to be due in 4/5 days, yesterday i had very very light pink blood when i wiped today the blood is much darker and it’s there when i wipe, also a few drops on my underwear, I’ve put a pad on to keep an eye on the blood and there’s just a tiny blood stain, what do you all think?

@sarahlees17 hi! If it's getting heavier and darker it's most likely your period. If it's light and doesn't show on a pad it could be implantation. Have you taken a test?

i havent taken a test yet because i think itd be too early but I’m just not 100% sure what this bleeding is, it’s not coming out on a pad it’s just when i wipe and this hasn’t happened before, i also think it’s too early to be my period but i guess ill need too keep an eye out in the next few days to see

Don't panic yet anyway. Wait until Monday or Tuesday and if your full period doesn't arrive maybe do a test. Anything can cause a weird period, stress, medication. Keep us posted!

I had this and passed it off as a period. I now have a 10 month old! But that doesn't mean it will be the same for you

thank you all, my period is to be here in 3 days so i guess ill just wait and if i miss it ill take a test. The bleeding has now stopped im nearly 100% sure it wasn’t a period as it only lasted 2 days and it wasn’t enough to wear a pad, although it was very light pink bleeding it seemed to be a little more blood than most people bleed with implantation bleeding?? I’ll keep you all updated!

@sarahlees17 I had this and now I have a little boy who’s turning 2 next month! It was my first cycle of TTC so when I started to bleed a little earlier than normal, I put it down to a ‘light period’ and that my body was just readjusting after coming off the pill a month before. It was heavier than what other people have described IB to be too. I found out when I was around 6/7 weeks pregnant as I genuinely thought it was a period! Xx

I’m still quite confused, the light pink spotting turned into light brown spotting that was only really there when i wiped, the spottings now gone and im not sure wether it was IB or just a really light period :( my ‘original’ period is 1 days late, i haven’t had much pregnancy symptoms apart from being EXHAUSTED. I’m gonna wait a few days and take a test just to see but ill update you all :)))

Hey guys I'm having this too, how does implantation bleeding differ to a normal period? Do you get really bad cramps along with it? I had all the pregnancy symptoms until I started bleeding today so not sure what's happening.

I’m gonna take a test in the morning :) although I do think it’s still a bit early, I’ll buy a few to take in the upcoming week! I’ll let you know xx

Implantation cramps are definitely a thing and they’ll feel very similar to period cramps. If the bleeding is the exact same as your regular periods then it more than likely is your period, if the blood is only really there when you wipe and you don’t require a pad or tampon then that could possibly be implantation! I’m not too sure tho as I’m confused too with my bleeding!

@shininglight16 I had implantation bleeding on Saturday it was literally a tiny bit of blood like a watery pink colour and only had it once when I wiped! No more after

Sorry to jump on post OP. Just looking for some advice!

I'm just wondering whether either of you tested before your bleeding?

I tested on 11dpo and got negative with cheapies and then got pretty much 'full flow' red period the same day. I'm now CD6 so almost a week later, I've stopped bleeding mostly - still a bit of spotting but I thought some of it looked like ewcm so I took an opk just in case I was ovulating really early and it was off the scale.

I've never had that before and heard it can be picking up HCG. So I had a check and I now have 6 positive pregnancy tests.

I'm really confused and thinking maybe it could be a chemical pregnancy and just some leftover HCG but then why would it be visible now on a nighttime wee but not on FMU before the bleed?

Also my bbt is going down so I'm thinking pregnancy loss is more likely for me.

Sorry for long one but just thought maybe you could shed some light?

@CycloGoose are your test lines dark? This is my first time being pregnant so don't have much advice. If it's pregnancy loss the tests should get lighter each day. Fingers crossed for you x

@Rmd123 I've never had a positive test before today (after my period) so I have nothing to compare with. I did a few different brands. One was very dark.
It was nighttime urine as well, but I don't really know whether I'd drunk much in the evening. I only took one (6) because I had a raging positive opk. Thank you for asking xxx and congratulations! Xxxx

@CycloGoose Hey, this was my first pregnancy which was 2 and a half years ago, not pregnant at the moment, but I'm trying!!
To be honest, I'm probably not much help as I didn't test until I was around 6/7 weeks pregnant and this was mainly because I assumed my bleed was my period and that we hadn't conceived.

Yours down sound very confusing, so I can understand why you're looking for some advice - you could keep testing for a few days but I don't know how long HCG takes to leave your system if it is a loss. Honestly, the best thing to do is speak to your doctor, they can do blood tests and that would be the most definitive for you. I hope you get some answers soon xx

I've got to get back to my class but I've been referred to early pregnancy unit. She said no way to tell if it's a loss or other early bleeding other than scans and/blood tests

@Confused678866 @CycloGoose I'm experiencing the same, got 2 negative pregnancy tests but had all the symptoms of early pregnancy such as nausea, fatigue, heavy boobs, nasal congestion. Got my periods yesterday about 4 weeks after I presumably ovulated and some clots as well. Hard to explain but some white flesh/tissue like mixed with blood and I don't get that during my normal periods. Feeling weak and getting pain/cramps on and off. The blood flow is like a proper period and bright red. My boobs don't feel heavy anymore since past week and a lot less today. I'm not sure if this was a chemical pregnancy, is there a way of knowing? Should I do the pregnancy test again? I'm really sad as I'm over 35 and really want 2 kids. I suffer from PCOS so maybe that caused the chemical pregnancy.

No idea @shininglight16 I was not expecting a positive result 2 days after what I thought was my period had ended.

Ive got an appointment with the early pregnancy team next Tuesday now but that's because I had heavy bleed and a positive test.
