Agnus Castus - how much should I be taking?

I was taking agnus castus for PMS when I miraculously conceived my daughter (we weren't actively ttc and had sex a week before I ovulated). I've always had a short luteal phase and I suspect I have low progesterone. Now in the fourth cycle of TTC #2 and I thought I might as well take AC again - can't hurt, and it might do the trick. I'm on CD3, started taking them on CD1.

Just wondering how much I should be taking? I've got 4mg/one a day tablets from Boots but I'm not sure they're strong enough? I can't for the life of me remember how much I took first time around.

So - anyone who has successfully conceived while taking agnus castus - what dosage were you on?

Hi @Mybobowler when I conceived my 1st (a boy) I was taking the agnus castus drops, I was taking 15 drops in a glass of water morning and evening, worked first time for me Grin and I had endometriosis Sad id definitely recommend you give them a go though, lots of baby dust your way xx Smile

Ooh I didn't realise you could get them as drops - I'll look them up! And thank you - I'm feeling oddly optimistic about this month (although tbf, I was last month too!)

Hi hun @Mybobowler yes their A.Vogel brand and I apologise for the late reply and also I said it was 15 drops I was taking but it was actually 20 drops in a small glass of water morning and evening, also great for pms etc. Read up about it and see what you think id hate to think I was giving you misleading advice, I have my fingers crossed for you that your optimistic feeling manifests :-) keep me posted on how you get on if you try the drops if you dont mind and lots of baby dust your way, I will attach a picture of the bottle of AC I have and am talking about tomorrow if you like xx

Thanks @BabyDustAllRound83 I think I've found the same ones on Amazon! I decided to stick with the 4mg ones this month - partly because I started them on CD1 and didn't want to mess anything up, and also because I think I've found the ones I took when I got pregnant first time and they're also only 4mg. The drops are in my Amazon basket, ready to go in case we don't conceive this month. Only on CD10 so a few weeks to go, but fingers crossed we get lucky this time!

@Mybobowler no problem your very welcome, yea probably a good idea to stick to the ones you started on this month especially if you think their the ones that worked for you first time around, do you mind me asking which ones they are just incase I might decide to change myself, different time of my life so might need a change, fingers crossed 🤞 for you and myself also!! Smile

@BabyDustAllRound83 it was a brand called PremHerb that I used first time around (2018) - got them from Holland and and Barrett. I'm now using the Boots own PMS Relief tablets. Both 4mg so presumably have the same effect?! I'll come back in 2/3 weeks and let you know if its worked any magic 🤞
