22 DPO - 7 days late - 2 Negative tests

My first post here but really confused so would love to know your thoughts 😫🙈

Decided to use clear blue ovulation tests for the first time last month, and got our solid smilie on the 14th of Feb!!! We are now 22 DPO, and 7 days late on what should have been my period, but I’ve had 2 negative clear blue digi tests ( one last Tuesday and the other today ). Really confused and not sure what to think.

I’ve certainly had some symptoms but trying not to symptom spot as had a chemical pregnancy and miscarriage previously.

I’ve noticed :
Headaches
Sensitive, heavy boobs.
Severely hungry or nauseous- no in between
Weird taste in my mouth which started only a couple of days ago.
Really tired
Been feeling on the brink of a cold also for about 10days.
Breathlessness

I guess what I’m after is, has anyone else had similar? When did you get your positive? Could the solid smilie be off from the ovulation tests? Could I still be testing to early?

I'm 9 days late now, however in a different boat as I got ten flashing smilies no peak so I've no clear ovulation date. Tests have been negative. I've been on a thread with other ladies in the same boat, and most have got their periods now unfortunately.

I'm not sure, but will be watching out for any comments because I'm not sure what's going on with me currently

Oh really! That’s so strange! You could still have ovulated though and just missed the peak perhaps? The annoying thing is, I’m okay with it if it didn’t work as it was just the first month of using them, but you just can’t move on till you start the next cycle can you 😫 keeping fingers crossed for you lovely x

I've no idea, but yes that's the frustration, you can't move on til you know and it feels like I am just wasting time if I am not pregnant!

For your question, we had a couple of people coming on and saying that they didn't have a positive test until two weeks afterwards, and had a healthy pregnancy. Ava have also got really useful posts on their website about DPO and pregnancy tests etc.

There are two possible reasons your period hasn't arrived yet, either you're pregnant or you didn't ovulate when you thought. OPKs are useful for letting you know ovulation is approaching but you can only confirm ovulation happened with a sustained rise in temperature. Really it's best to use OPKs in conjunction with BBT monitoring. Sometimes your body can 'try' to ovulate but doesn't quite manage to, it will keep trying until ovulation happens. So it's most likely you didn't ovulate on 14th/15th Feb. I find the Easy@home ovulation sticks really good and because they're cheap, you can use 2 or 3 a day to make sure you catch the peak.

@CNMP just to mention, the static smiley shows a peak, and you ovulate a couple days after it (36-48 hours I think). So you'd be 20 DPO - I don't know if that makes any difference at all! Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you !

That’s really interesting you say that because we have a solid smilie and then about 2 days later I had the egg white like mucus for about 4 days. We kept trying after that, and that would be only 2 weeks yesterday since that so I could only just be late. All very confusing, got another test to do in a couple of days which hopefully will shed some light on everything.

I had EWCM in patches over tww, with it stretching to 4cm two days before my period was due. Was monitoring it because that was unusual for me. So maybe I kept gearing up to ovulate but didn’t. And either ovulated near my period (if that’s even possible) or anovulatory. So I think I’m going to wait and test again 14 days since 25th Feb, and if negative, assume I didn’t ovulate.

How about you CNMP, any progress?

I started my period this morning. No bad thing, now I’m ready to start the next cycle. I must have ovulated later than the ovulation test suggested. I thought as much because of my discharge. Here’s hoping next month Im more successful! Fingers crossed you get some good news soon! X

Cnmp I’m sorry, at least you know and can start next cycle. If you use the CB opks again, the sperm meets egg plan is to have sex for 3 days straight after a positive, miss a day, and then have sex the 5th day after.

What’s that? Never heard of sperm meets egg plan? Thanks lovely, praying next month is our month for a sticky one! After all the heartache I’m so ready 🙈 hopefully you’ll find out soon so, like you said, can focus on the next cycle! X

It’s meant to maximise the chance of sperm meeting an egg every cycle. Sex every other day from CD 8, when you get a positive opk have sex every day for three days, miss a day, then one more day. Just found it interesting you said you had ewcm for four days after and the plan basically makes you cover your bases for five days after a positive opk

Oh wow! Definitely going to give that a try! Thank you so much! Yeah 100%. I’ll be honest I was annoyed because I felt like I missed a opportunity last month and maybe I shouldn’t use opk. But I’ll keep with them and try that method! Hopefully will cover all opportunities then 🙌🏻

Any ideas please 🙏 I had my period which lasted a week on day 10 I ovulated 6 days later I had spotting which lasted 4 days however it’s been 13 days past spotting and testing negative for pregnancy I am trying ☺️tia x
