Hi, I’m 21 (22 in April) and me and my partner are thinking about ttc. We’ve been together for 2 years, have a house together with plenty of room and he has a stable income. I’m not working at the minute due to some health issues in the past but money isn’t too bad and we’re getting by okay. Is 22 too young to be ttc? We both really think that this is a good step forwards, and I know that when we eventually have a child they will be so loved and cared for. I guess I’m just a bit worried that it’s too young, everyone else i see having children have then later on. For the past year I’ve been getting a bit baby fever, and it’s something I’ve put a lot of thought into. Me and partner have also had many discussions on the topic and he’s on board.

Having no job and not being married puts you in a very precarious situation financially to be honest and would make me very uncomfortable from a TTC point of view.

No one else can say really, totally your decision!

Personally, I think it would be too young for me, I absolutely LOVED the freedom of my twenties (holidays, disposable income etc.) but I knew for sure that I wasn't ready. If you already feel ready then you are ahead of where I was at 21/22!

I was 21 when I met my now Husband (been together 14 years), didn't get married until 30 and first baby at 31, we spent our twenties going out, having fun and having amazing holidays. I wouldn't change a thing, but everyone is totally different!

You do you, but make sure you have fully thought everything through before you jump into anything :) x
