Implantation bleeding?

Hi. I'm new to this. I feel I may be experiencing implantation bleeding. Today is the third day. Yesterday I took a home test which gave a positive result, I took a second one which was negative. I took two more today, also negative. Is it too early to test? And why did I get a positive?

Hi @Ijustdontknow2021. I’m experiencing bleeding like you. I’m not sure why you got a positive but I’ve read that if it is implantation bleeding, then you should wait about a week to test so that you have a decent level of hcg

Yes been doing some reading too...Its terribly disappointing to get negatives after a positive but I guess I have to be patient and wait. It certainly doesn't seem like a period though so fingers crossed I guess.

No mine doesn’t seem like a period either, especially as it practically stopped last night. I guess only time will tell

I'm in the same boat - keep thinking my period is starting and I'm out then it stops! Sorry if it's tmi but what has the bleeding been like for you guys? When have you had it in terms of your cycle? I feel like I'm clinging on and will get disappointed 🙈

@hels301990 my spotting started on cd23 at 11dpo. I’m not 100% sure about my cycle length, came off the mini pill in October but I know for sure that just over 3 weeks is far too early, even when on the pill which didn’t control my cycles. I would guess I’m usually 28-30 days. Mine stared as pink when I wiped and continued throughout the afternoon, sometimes more red and then come yesterday evening, barely anything. This morning there was a bit more but now, a few hours later, not much. Sorry if this is TMI, but when I insert a finger, the blood is very watery and not thick like AF blood. I had some mild cramping before the bleeding started and I have had very painful and tender lower backache since Thursday evening but it is easing up. Right now, it almost feels like I’ve pulled something on the right side of my pelvis. I’m probably clutching at straws too

@Emeraldgreen1 I'm so similar! (Also glad I'm not the only one who tries with a finger) I went to the toilet on Friday (CD24/25) and was a tiny bit constipated and when I wiped there was a bit of red blood and I thought urgh come on early as I assumed too red for IB (my cycles are usually 27-29 days) but put a tampon in and nothing else at all. Got up sat morning and went for a wee and some pinky/reddy blood on toilet roll so again I thought ok really happening now. Another tampon in and even after hours all it had on it was one side with a bit of dark brown discharge and 2 spots of red. Took it out and nothing all evening or overnight. Got up yday and again a bit of pinky/red when I wiped after a wee but nothing more all day except the odd bit of snotty brown (and generally that was when I felt my cervix - I don't even know if I'm causing the bleeding by poking at it) tampon in overnight and white this morning with nothing. All I've had this morning is a pink watery spot on another tampon (I've given up with them now as getting ridiculous but didn't want to ruin underwear with an unexpected full flow) and then some pinky/brown if feel right up at my cervix. I've had enough now as I know realistically I don't think you should have any red for IB which I've had so probably sadly not pregnant, but even if you added up all the bits I've had it wouldn't fill anywhere near 1 tampon which is so unlike me 🤷‍♀️ Not brave enough to test as I don't want to see the stark white result (plus when do you test if you've had IB) but if I'm not pregnant can I please have a proper flow period so I can work out when my next fertile window is 🙈

@hels301990 I've read on quite a few websites than you can have any colour bleeding, pink, red, brown or rusty! Also read that you should wait 7 days until after bleeding to test so that you have enough hcg as that only starts being produced after implantation. My bleeding is down to practically nothing again, this would not happen with a normal period, at least not for me and not so soon. I've definitely not got a usual AF colour

@Emeraldgreen1 Ahh that's interesting!! I think I saw no red somewhere and stopped reading.
I'm the same; would usually have maybe one day of brown/red spotting, couple of days of red steady flow using maybe 4/5 tampons a day, then a day of lighter flow and a day of spotting/last bits of brown. I've also got zero cramps and on the day before/first 2 days I'm usually dosing up on the paracetamol. I've just got a sort of funny feeling in the bottom of my tummy but not really cramps or painful. Boobs are heavy and sore (but they were heavy and sore the last two cycles and I wasn't pregnant) although they did stop on the first day or so of bleeding 🤷‍♀️ just feel like I don't want to clutch at straws and be disappointed!

@hels301990 I know exactly what you mean, but it's hard not to be hopeful. I'm just going to try to be patient 😩
I usually spot before but it's red or brown. AF starts heavy and then eases off to spotting, nothing like this

Bleeding seems to be starting properly now - first time it's actually made it down onto my knickers so I think I'm out. Absolutely gutted. Never had a period like this

@hels301990 sorry to hear that, is it bright red? Mine has definitely lessened and is just a very pale pink when I wipe.hopefully it will stay that way

Yeah it's fairly red and now I have period pain which I didn't have before so think it's building to flow properly now :-( I had really started to think this was my month as there was literally nothing this morning when I woke up. Now I'm thinking is this many days of spotting and weird start to a period a sign there's something wrong :-( we've been properly trying for 4 cycles and sort of trying but I don't think hitting the right time for 2 cycles before that so I know it's early days but something doesn't feel right

@hels301990 sorry to hear that. I often have spotting a week or so before I'm due which is often teddy-brown. It won't harm chatting to your doctor but maybe give it another cycle to see if it was just an odd month?

Hey! Sorry😶. No more discharge for me. Mine was a dirty Brown colour kind of sporadic. Took another test and was negative so I guess I'll wait an day or so..It's just so odd. Like you guys it's never been like this before I would have probably ignored it if the first test was neg but now I'm so hopeful! I'm not perfectly regular either though so I guess it could be another. Had some cramping on day three so thought it was coming on for sure but nothing. I'm sorry to hear you both seem to be out at this stage, I'll update you next test although I'm trying not to be hopeful.

@Ijustdontknow2021 glad the spotting has stopped. Mine has completely too, really nothing at all today which is good. I think I will test in a few days. I have had terrible back pain and a couple of headaches, and seem to be quite hungry, but I'm sure it's just my body playing tricks on me!

I had a sore back yesterday, a little today but thought maybe I'd done something. Can that be a sign too?

Hey @hels301990 no spotting for a couple of days, AF due tomorrow at the latest I think which would be 16dpo. I may test tomorrow but not sure. If I'm not pregnant then I don't have a clue what's going on with my body!
Of course I've been googling and some women not getting positive tests until they are 7 weeks, so of course, like a mad woman, I'm still thinking there could be hope of I get a negative! Just either want a positive test or a proper period rather than this in between

@Emeraldgreen1 I'm with you no period and no positive. I've no idea what's going on, surely a chemical pregnancy would result in flow by now right? I watched so woman's progressive tests on you Tube....bad idea. I just feel completely deflated! I want to know for sure one way or other.

@Ijustdontknow2021 still nothing! No AF and BFN. Have had some new symptoms though...last few days I've been really hungry about an hour after dinner, feel like I've been peeing more. Have had a really weird pulling/tingling feeling in my stomach and pelvic area, and been really bloated, but hungry at the same time today.
I used OPKs and started testing on CD11 and got a high reading and I'm sure on CD12 it was positive/peak. The same day I had a tingling sensation in my ovary which makes me think that I must have ovulated, so if I wasn't pregnant I should have had AF by now as I'm 17dpo. Unless I'm totally wrong 🙄. I've read about a lot of women who haven't had a bfp until up to 3 weeks after AF being due.
I just feel that with all the symptoms I've had and the timing of them, I should be pregnant. I will just test every few days, and I might start OPKs on Monday, just in case I am wrong.
Did you use anything to track ovulation?

I didn't track we just had sex a lot over the expected ovulation area😂. I suppose I could have ovulated late and everything could be behind but I've now reached day 42 of my cycle AF is usually about 35 days. I have had a 42 day cycle before and got a normal period but it seems unlikely. If I experienced implantation bleeding that is now a week ago with a positive digital test so I would think surely I would see something by now. I'm going to pick up some opk today and start tracking properly, I don't like this limbo. You're sounding positive though so that's exciting! I really hope there's a baby in there🤞
