hey, starting the process of having fertility tests due to have an internal ultrasound on Tuesday, starting to worry now never had one before and don't know what to expect, how long it will take and how long the results will take to come back. Anyone have any experience with them please anxiety is starting to take over now.

TIA

In my experience the nurse was lovely, it was uncomfortable but over very quickly.

My nurse when I had one was great too, dosent hurt just a little bit uncomfortable. It dosent take long and they talk you through everything while doing it. Just close your eyes a breathe xx

@nadeelia hi, I also just had my first fertility clinic tests last week and had bloods and ultrasound done. I wasn't looking forward to it because of the awkwardness etc but it was really fine. The scan itself was about 10 mins, doesn't hurt but obviously you can feel it. The consultant turned the screen round so I could see what she was looking at, she counted the follicles, looks at the shape and can also see if you've ovulated. I was asking lots of questions throughout the whole thing and she was pointing things out on the screen.

My follow up appointment for the official results is on the 20th April, so about 7 weeks wait from the scan, although she pretty much told me everything there and then so I know what I'm expecting come the 20th. The only new news will be blood results and partners SA results.

We have a thread on here called 'first fertility appointment tomorrow' where we are all in a similar position, just had first lot of investigations done and now waiting on further tests/results etc so you may want to join or just check it out as may be useful x
