Period or IB?

I honestly didn't have any hopes for getting pregnant this month. After not getting pregnant in previous month's, I paid to have a female hormone blood test done and it said my T4 levels and FSH were under the level they should be and my LH and oestrogen were at the lower end of normal. I carried on taking my prenatal supplements and DTD during my fertile window, but had no hopes.
I am 13 dpo today. Yesterday, my OH asked me if I could be pregnant. I had a test in, so did it with my FMU yesterday morning. It was BFN, then shortly after, I started bleeding, so I thought that I'd just started my period a day or 2 early (my cycles are 31-33 days long, currently on day 31)

I am still bleeding, but it's not a normal period at all. I've only needed to use a panty liner and there's just a small amount of bright red/ brown blood.

If this is an implantation bleed, when would a test show positive? I only have one test left and it's a clear blue digital so don't want to waste it by testing again tomorrow if that's going to be too soon.

Been going mad all day wondering what the nelly is going on with my body. I never bleed like this. Usually day 2 I need a pad and a tampon simultaneously as it's my heaviest day and I bleed a lot (sorry if tmi)

I personally would wait about a week before testing again. It could be that you are just stressed/anxious and so your period may be a bit late. I know that’s probably easier said than done to wait that long when TTC however it may be too early right now to tell. I hope you get you BFP wishing you all the best 🤞 xx

Hi @Pitstop1986. I’m in the same position. Started a very light, almost watery pinky-red bleed on Saturday afternoon at 11dpo along with mild pelvic cramping and a very painful lower back. Bleeding is not like my usual periods and is at least 3 maybe 5 days early. It started to subside last night but have had a bit more this morning but still not what I would consider to be AF.
Done quite a bit of reading which suggests that IB can be like this and come in waves lasting up to 3 days. Many websites suggest testing around a week after the bleeding stops so that you have enough time to build up a detectable level of hcg. I’m just going to keep an eye on the bleeding, hoping that it doesn’t get heavier and hope that is a good sign 🤞

AF has come in much heavier so I definitely think I'm out this month. I guess the couple of days spotting were probably due to low progesterone. Sprinkling baby dust your way @Emeraldgreen1
